Title: 17th Century Conservative Cave
Post by: bijou on June 30, 2011, 09:35:50 AM
It has come to my attention that a lady in Florida hath exposed her cleavage after supping on the Devil's Brew. I expect she will soon be placed in the ducking stool.

What news hast thou to share?

Thou knave hath accused us of being slovenly and intemperate biggots.  Knowest he not his lower orifice from a common hole in thy soil.

It doth appear that there is a problem with the gate at Dr Jackson's new asylum for the possessed and bewildered.

'Sooth, the South Seas Company stock seems to be rising mightily!  Thinkest thou that it is the proper time to purchase a position in it?

Most certainly not.  Thou wilst be most upset at the outcome and wilst wish thou had invested in tulips instead.

King James hath decreed that the Devil's Brew shan't be permitted for lady consumption. Wickedness and sloth and devilry quite rightly appear.

On the other hand, that ain't so bad after all...... :whistling:

I shall act upon your wise counsel instanter, or no later than the 5th proxima, to be sure!

I needest an ale...
Friday!  Friday!  Wherefore art thou, Friday?

I am most shocked.  That frame of mind will leadeth to trouble. I hath heard tell of the young people who sayeth "holdeth mine ale and regard mine behaviour". Always it endeth badly.

Friday!  Friday!  Wherefore art thou, Friday?

Friday, a day of anticipation, hath shewn itself naught in these past days of woe.

Surely we shall dwell in the house of Thursday evermore.

Knaves endure not. Friday revealeth itself on morning next.

Indeed, it hath come to mine own ears that this is doubly the case when the words issue from young rogues, yet it is also true that there are grave hazzards even for young maidens of the best breeding upon this same path!

At rise of sun, I rouse myself,
In need of newness, I descend the stair,
The grain and whey are stirred in the cup,
Mine eyes do see, the morn passant,
The ticking of the clock putteth all in haste,
To fetch up a place in a waggon,
And lo, some auld acquaintance do appear
Possess’d of a carriage.

A place atop,
Or forsooth, within,
I must chuse that
Which best doth suit.

For it is Friday,
The joy of which is the Jew’s Sabbath and the Sunday,
Verily, it is Friday,
The joy of which is the Jew’s Sabbath and the Sunday.

Celebrations, yea verily!
Celebrations, forsooth!
Felicity and pleasure abound in one
Espying the Sabbath and Sunday.

(Someone else carry on please, else let it die.)

It doth appear that this thread has no worth without such portraits of hussies.
