Damn, I hate it when someone tells us not to worry about something

http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20110630/OPINI...

Nuclear plants need scrutiny, not hysteria

"Right now the plants are safe."

That's what the chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said of the two nuclear power plants along the Missouri River in Nebraska after recent flooding. There have been no "nuclear releases." Vital systems to ensure safety are protected. Flood waters are not expected to become unmanageable.

Gov. Terry Branstad* said that state officials are monitoring the plants and that the public should not worry.

Yet some people worry.

------------------------------------------

Instead of this crap how about having a news conference where we can get some questions asked and answered? Just tell us exactly what is going on. Is that too much to ask? I would feel a lot better about that.

Well now, it's like, real hard, to take the concerns of someone seriously, who eats tacos with a spoon.

*The lurking primitives might misunderstand this here; Branstad is governor of Iowa, not of Nebraska.  In case the primitives don't know, the flooding Missouri River separates Nebraska from Iowa.  The nuclear power plants are on the Nebraska side.

1. "how about having a news conference where we can get some questions asked and answered?"

Oh yes - let us hear them stammer and stumble through their explanations from real reporters asking really intelligent questions.

I've resigned myself to the fact that they ain't gonna tell us ish until after the fact, Chernobyl/Fukushima-style.

But when will Nadin weigh in on this issue?  That's what I'm waiting for.

Oh for ****s sake! How many times has the Missouri or Mississippi been in flood stage and nuttin' happened with those reactors? All of a sudden they have sunk below their former elevation? Gimme a ****in' break! DUmb****s!

These morons just want to stir up shit because Japan, who happen to be on an earthquake zone, have had problems. We knew this was goin' to happen. The earthers are goin' to use every excuse to keep us from using cheap power!
