Way out of line for subsidized housing.
Hub and I lived in cheap housing when he was in a technical program. I'm certain the rent was subsidized. People called the area the projects. We had two children and were expecting a third and the school didn't have apartments large enough for three according to the regulations they had to follow so they put us in a large complex. Hub's health was already on a fast downhill track, and I was hustling cleaning jobs and heavy filing for all I was worth. It was all I could get being quite pregnant.
We got along fine with linoleum on the floors, no dishwasher, no air conditioning in central Indiana during the summer. Many of our neighbors kept their places up and were grateful. There were some, though, that griped about every amenity their units didn't have and that they somehow thought they should get free.
Heck, come to think of it I still don't have any carpet, a dishwasher, or air conditioning.

It is safe to say, the places won't look so nice like that, for very long.
This is the next alternative, to Chicago, Cabrini Green.
So if Holder's people grouped together, trash the places in government housing, maybe we should try to spread them out, in luxury housing.
Ya think?

"If the occupants of these homes improve their lives financially, they will be forced to move out. And the housing they could afford without the taxpayer subsidy is well below the quality of these homes," he said.
Money quote...It's intentional.

Herrity does not advocate putting low-income residents in "ghetto-style" housing but he takes issue with taxpayers who cannot afford such luxuries being forced to pick up the tab for people who qualify for subsidized housing.
How is this any different than taxes being raised on the private sector to pay for wage and benefit increases for public sector employees?

"If the taxpayer won't go to the ghetto, we'll bring the ghetto to the taxpayer."....sounds like an Obama sound bit to me.

I looked at the photos. I wonder if they'll publish pictures of these same rooms after 6 months of use by the usual suspects who camp out in Section 8?
