LACEY TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Federal regulators have been working closely with the nuclear power industry to keep the nation's aging reactors operating within safety standards by repeatedly weakening those standards, or simply failing to enforce them, an investigation by The Associated Press has found.

They'll piss and moan about a 30-year old plant that has had maybe 80-100 cycles on it, but don't think twice about 90-100 year old plants which have had THOUSANDS of cycles on their equipment.
Hint: CYCLIC stress is the most common mode of equipment failure.
This article was written by a person who 1--hasn't got a clue how a power plant works, 2--doesn't know jack shit about nuclear power, 3--didn't bother to take the time to educate themselves because they've already made up their minds, and by God, they're right.
Memo to Mr. Donn. You hate nuclear power that much? Fine. Seabrook and VY can stop shipping their power down to Mass. Let's see how much you like that shit.

You hit him where it hurt...in his airconditioning/heating/lighting.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
For 25 years I did whitewater canoeing. Used to run into the back to nature freaks that didn't want to dam the rivers, etc...blah blah blah. I would listen to them bitch while we were sitting by the dry river bed waiting for the lunch time power demand and the release of water through the turbines. If it weren't for hydro, we wouldn't have had enough water in the river to get out feet wet much less to do some whitewater paddling.... :lmao:....and everyone damn one of them that I ever asked had left the airconditioner running in their empty homes/apartments while they spent their weekend in the mountains. Hey, that place better be damn well cold when they got home.
...and after a day on the river in the campground, those same people would be having their favorite alcoholic beverage and telling me that if I would give up meat, we could feed the world with that grain. They never thought about the fact that their alcoholic beverages had been made from the very finest grains grown and my meat was fed on the substandard, not fit for human consumption, grain.... :lmao:.... I just love to listen to stupid.

Part I of a series too. :-)

Oh, believe me, I hear the same crap from those down in MA--nuclear power bad, blah blah blah...
That lasts about as long as it takes for me to tell them that virtually every watt we generate goes their way, not ours.
You don't believe me? 363 line, 369 line, 394 line. All 345KV lines going through the station. The 369 line is coming out of Newington via Timber Swamp. That's the only line that usually has power coming INTO the station. Add that up plus what we sent out to Tewksbury and Scobie/central MA.

I never said it didn't, just that your anger is misplaced. The Telegram picked this up, which means the NYT probably did also, or will this week.
I think they are gearing up for election season, where you may see some candidates look at nuclear power as a solution that needs to be explored more.

Consider the source....AP is still pissed that Fukushima didn't melt down and give them something to whine about incessantly, and run around in circles like a bunch of fags..

I'd agree with you there, about the AP.
