It's illegal, the war in Libya is illegal.
The House refused to vote President Barack Obama the authority for U.S. military operations against Libya on Friday but stopped short of cutting off funds for the mission, a mixed message reminiscent of congressional unease on Vietnam and more recent wars.
In a repudiation of the commander in chief, the House voted overwhelmingly against a resolution that would have favored letting the mission continue for one year while barring U.S. ground forces, a resolution the president said he would welcome.

My bet though is that the president will do what other presidents have done in this regard, damn the legalities, damned the constitutionality, and full speed ahead with the war.
More of that change thing? I think not.

1. UN action. We are members of the UN.
Try to remember that.

6. So was Iraq.
That doesn't make it any less repugnant.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_Resolution
The only UN authorization in Libya is a no fly zone. Bombing the crap out of buildings goes against the spirit of the resolution.

5. Umm, only Congress has the power to authorize war,
With modifications for emergency actions, yes, but the time limit has run out, and Obama has exceeded his authority.

8. Leave it to a Dem to expand executive authority for war
Hey, there are civilians in danger in Libya and everything, but there will someday be another Republican behind that desk. Who knows what they'll do with this precedent, not to mention the knowledge that there will be no consequences for their actions because Dem administrations "look forward".

10. Cheney Doctrine, right.
They may not have used the I word but I am stunned they were actually grousing about THE WON.
Could it be that even the DU is starting to realize that Hope and Change was just another hacky hokey and empty election slogan and the jr senator was not really cut out for the job?
A man can dream. :whatever:
They never will use the I word, they are hypocrites.
In fact if Bush had taken out 0sama like 0bama did, that would have been declared a war crime by the left.
Where all all the posts demanding impeachment??? :whistling:
So if we start calling for "chimpeachment (http://www.google.com/search?q=chimpeachment+site%3Ademocraticunderground.com&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a)," would that be racist now?
You got me, madam.
I thought for sure there'd be lots of them.
You DO realize that there is a significant portion of the Dem base that would be carrying anti-war signs even if the Russians, or Chinese were rolling tanks down Broadway in New York.........Seriously, they'd be leading the "parade." At least until the decision was made to get rid of the useful idiots.
