Oh my.

By the way, the BeHereNow primitive, who lives in California, has a swimming pool in her backyard, one of those luxuries unattainable for most other primitives.

Guys, I gotta say- I am truly depressed right now.

While I love DU and have depended on you guys for nearly a decade now, as far as some voices of sanity in the wilderness- some of what I have been reading just makes me so sad. And hopeless.

I no longer entertain the notion that we can salvage this country-I think it is clear to some that the global elite have won, often with the complacency of some our citizens, who simply are ignorant, not necessarily stupid, that continue to vote against our best interest.

It is appalling to me that people like Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann can even be considered as viable candidates for the Presidency of the United States of America.

I mean, why not just elect Kim Kardashian and get it over with?

The rich have neared completion of completely separating and isolating themselves from the rest of us. The middle class is a sick and dying bird, pushed out of its shabby nest by those who will not miss its song in the morning.

As a matter of fact- they can't wait to cut down the tree where the nest was built for their personal gain.

Sorry to be so dark, but I don't see any of it getting better in our lifetimes.

And I am truly depressed.

4. I hear you- it has gotten worse for everyone I know.

I do not blame Obama though- I don't think he ever had any power to begin with, other that our overwhelming votes for him.

I think he was "allowed" to be our President, and I don't envy his life right now.

He will be known as a failure through no fault of his own.

By design, by design.

9. Well, Here's Where We Disagree. I DON'T Feel Obama Has Been A Very strong leader. For SURE, he was dealt a horrible hand, but he knew it was bad from the get go. I simply can't support how he has compromised so very much and have gotten to a point where I have little faith in his bargaining powers.

12. I think his intentions were good, but once he arrived-

He was promptly admonished by the true PTB.

I would hope he believed he could effect change, but I would consider him naive to actually believe it for very long.

He'll take the money, write some books and that will be his blip in history as the first Black President.

2. I fight the same depression BHN...

I think much of it has to do with the disaster of the Bush years and the perspective that we have that maybe others, many here, do not see the same way? We saw an urgency. We needed to correct the damages done to our country, our economy, and our Consitution. We are sort of like the vulture sitting on an old dead juniper branch out in the desert, "Patience, my ass! I wanna kill something!"

Instead, we act as if nothing happened in the last ten years. It's politics as usual. When we know better.

7. "When we know better..." Yes some of us do.

Others do not.

No insult to some of the recent members, but I think those of us who have been watching this for ten or more years, have a different perspective.

And it is through those eyes that we see just how serious this has become.

Hard to discuss it with people who have just arrived at this dance.

6. me too

wish I could cast a hopeful light, but can't. Better just try for personal happiness--the world is circling the drain.

8. You are not alone. The fultility of trying to turn around this corrupt plutocracy is dawning on many of us. I hope something changes, but I'm not counting on it.

So cut the wrists already.  Please.

jeez my buddy just had to do a death notification today, telling the wife and 5 kids that pops was in an accident and not coming home, i think some of the Dummies need to realise that relatively speaking they are very fortunate and should be thanking their lucky stars that they live in relative luxury to the majority of the world.  Imagine living somewhere you cant get cheetos or your boobs removed other than by some maniac with a machete..

Hmmm is this primitive a listener of Rush?
First of all the, by design comment, secondly he's running with the latest DNC meme that the repukes are sabotaging the economy.

Yep. In your best interest not mine.

Glad to see the DUmmie be honest and say that and not the usual "in their best interest" because voting the liberal way is not in my best interest.

H5!!! I get so tired of these liberal idiots that tell me I am voting against "my best interests". I always tell them that taking my hard earned money and giving it to parasites is not in my best interests. I tell them that the welfare parasites that buy steak while I am buying hamburger is not in my best interest. I tell them that my hard earned money that I save and invest expecting returns that the dems wanna tax out the ass is not in my best interest. I tell them that the Rockefellers and Kerrys invest in tax exempt bonds cause they already got their wealth and they are impeding me from growing my wealth is not in my best interest.

That usually shuts them up.

Well, I think the swimming pool DUmmy does make one good point.

It's unlikely that Kim Kardashian would do a worse job than the jug-eared muslim that we have.

Unfortunately, Kim is only 30, so she isn't constitutionally eligible for the presidency, but neither is the Kenyan.

I had a water sprinkler in the back yard.

We built our own pool.

DUmmie BeHereNow is smart to not let the rest of the misfit f'ups know he/she/it has a pool.

There isn't enough chlorine in the world to sanitize it after a DUmmie takes a swim.  On the other hand, said DUmmie would have their bi-annual bath.

Lucky until I had to mow the grass.

Hey, I guess I was real lucky. At the old home place we had 128 acres with 5 ponds and a creek to swim/play in....if you didn't mind the floating cow chips and the scum/moss on top of the water....which I didn't... :-)

I just remembered the pond in a empty lot we used to swim in when I was a teenager. It was formed by all the run off from the neighborhood, the field, and the busy road not far away from it. I am amazed we didn't come out of that "water" with tumors.

I sincerely wish a Skin would explain to me just what is missing from their liberal utopia.  I know, I know, single payer.  And sooner than later, you'll win the gay marriage argument.  I know you want to redistribute more wealth, but, then do WHAT with it?  Our poor are richer than many of the wealthiest citizens of countless countries.  Free medical care, daycare, food, education, housing, school breakfast and lunch, bus passes, and even cell phones.
You've regulated the hell out of everything.  Food safety, water safety, work safety, unemployment, discrimination, all whilst eliminating the notion of personal responsibility.
I know I am just not wired like you, therefore I could never think like you, but, seriously, what do you want?

People still get some take home pay. That is the driving force behind our scandalously unequal distribution of wealth.

In one word, CONTROL.

That's what they want, sybilll. They want to lay down absolute control over every aspect of your life  while of course being subject to no such regulation themselves.

They. Want. It. All. And. They. Want. It. Now.

Ain't that the truth.
