More Say They Are Worse Off Than Under Bush

A new Bloomberg Poll finds that by a 44% to 34% margin Americans say they believe they are worse off than when President Obama took office.

Two-thirds say they believe the country is on the wrong track overall.

Nonetheless, the public "remains ambivalent about the Republican Party's economic stewardship. Asked to rate Obama's vision for the economy against that of the Republicans, poll respondents favor the president's by 40% to 37%, though that is a deterioration from a 12-percentage-point advantage Obama maintained three months ago."

Just to let you know, this will not change in time for the 12 elections.

13. I really wish Obama had done something early on to show him as a clear alternative to Bush

He lost "the audacity of hope" almost as soon as he was elected.

28. You mean like the 800B stimulus?

I understand that most of that money is unspent. obama is planning to use it for his reelection.

Like economists whose opinions I agree with were calling for.

40. And clearly he had the votes in Congress for such a thing, right?

The stimulus was already the largest in history. It would have been great if it was bigger. But then there is that silly little Congress, those votes that need to exists ... and if you recall, even then, we did not have 60 Dems to pass it (the GOP was blocking the seating of Franken).

And then you have the 5-6 bluedogs.

So Obama was able to get the largest stimulus every passed through ... but he's a bad guy because it wasn't bigger.

Those economists you agree with ... any of them have the numbers on where the votes for their plans would come from? I mean these are folks that are good at math right? They should be able to count to 60 and NAME the Senators that would have voted for their plans.

They can claim that it should have been bigger, but I have yet to see one put forward the names of the 60 Senators that would support their plan. And there is a reason for that. They couldn't get 60.

Your own party screwed you. LOL.

7. I'm sure it's only temporary, but the company I work for cut back

to 32 hour weeks about 2 months ago. This is the first time hours have been cut since I started working here 17 years ago.

Next comes 24 hours and no bennies.

22. On average, they are   Updated at 5:02 PM

Even with W's ****ups and constant whittling away at our economic base and filling of bubbles, we held up better during the first 6 years of W than we have during the first 2 1/2 of Obama. Of course, Bushco eventually was too much for our economy to take, and it cracked and popped.

Much will depend on if people can remember who started the current depression. I am not hopeful.

And if Obama winds, and we still are mired in this in 2016, The repubs could run Bachmann and win. Because Obama and the democrats will own the depression by that time.

And what was the major change that happened during the last two years of GW's presidency? Here's a clue. She used a broom to get back home to San Fran on week-ends.

Good Lord these people are delusional. Either that or they say what has to be said to keep themselves within the good graces of the DUmp.

I'd say it's both.

The fact is that the economy was firing on all cylinders until a socialist democrat became the speaker of the house and a babbling old moron became the senate majority leader in January 2007. Then the SHTF.

47. They don't have to pretend. They just have to really not
understand. Believe me, I just watched a republican governor get elected in Michigan by promising "a better future" and little else. The idiot didn't even have to campaign on exactly what his plans were for a "better future".

You'd think the MI governor had run on a platform of hope and change.

Sorry DUmmies the whole, this is Bush's fault, argument is not going to resonate in the voters minds in Nov of 2012.
0bama came to town saying he was clean this place up and in almost 3 years there is no sign of improvement whatsoever.

Quite the opposite--the economy really is teetering near the edge of collapse.  And if it does go down, the DUmb****s will be the first ones dead.

Yeah, I'm sure it's "only temporary" as well DUchebag. ::) That's what the last company I worked for started out doing. They are no longer in business.
Take your "hope and change" and shove it.
