Sam Stein (HuffPo): Obama Believes Gay Marriage 'Best Addressed By The States': WH Official

States' rights -- from the nation's first black president. You just can't make this stuff up.
"Although the President believes that this is an issue best addressed by the states, he also firmly believes that committed gay and lesbian couples should receive equal protection under the law," the official said.
Respect for states' rights with regards to marriage is a position shared by many prominent officials and politicians, including Republicans like Dick Cheney. While it falls far short of a full-throated endorsement of same-sex marriage -- a gap that will keep LGBT activists rankled -- as it comes just days before Thursday gala, the White House official's statement offers both an indication of where Obama's evolution currently stands and a hint as to how the president will handle the inquiries that will be coming his way.
Obama is reportedly looking for politically comfortable ways to take a more open stance on same-sex marriage. Stressing states' rights, with a basic federal guarantee of benefits for same-sex couples, could be the path he's looking for.

But I'm sure that this pronouncement is the most sensible and reasonable formulation, and besides, if President Obama came right out and endorsed same sex marriage, can you imagine how many votes he would lose from people who would cut off their hand before casting a ballot for him? You libruls are just a bunch of latte-sipping pony lovers, that's all you are!

You know, I got nothing against gays, but I do have a lot against gay primitives on Skins's island.
I wish either my fellow alum Skins would ban them all, or all of them just packed up their bags and swam away.
The problems, real and alleged, the gay primitives have pale in comparison with the problems in the real, much larger, world outside of gaity.

You know, I got nothing against gays, but I do have a lot against gay primitives on Skins's island.
I wish either my fellow alum Skins would ban them all, or all of them just packed up their bags and swam away.
The problems, real and alleged, the gay primitives have pale in comparison with the problems in the real, much larger, world outside of gaity.
I've never encountered a group of people so ecstatic to be enraged over everything. The only thing that makes them happier than bashing corporations, the (non-Democrat) rich, and decent, hardworking conservative Americans is beating everyone else over the head with their superduper overprivileged victim status.
Don't know about youall, but I've seen quite a bit of oneupmanship over there as to which group has bragging rights to the title of "Most Oppressed". I'm voting for the LGBT crowd. Actually, think I'll put it to a vote here, so we can all vote for our favorite DUmmie victim crowd.

I just don't see how a tiny handful of votes is worth the irritation of putting up with all these bitchy drama queens, and alienating countless normal people, but that's the democrat party.

I once knew a fool that went by the same moniker on the net. He built a guild on Asheron's Call way back when. The guild had a get together in his hometown. Several couples including his next door neighbors showed up. He had sex with a wife that wasn't his at the gathering, the fool woman thought he was in love with her and promptly made a huge scene, which resulted in the fact he was also sleeping with his neighbor's wife coming out.
If it's the same dude, he'll fit right in at the DUmp.
