Looking to start investing but don't know where to begin
So I've come upon a few thousand dollars recently after taking care of loans and debts, and I'm looking to start investing so that some years down the line I might have made something on it. The Internet just has so many articles and websites on investing that it's daunting to go through and even find where to start reading!
Anyone have any websites or books that they recommend to learn how to begin investing that have been of help to them?
Well, this should be interesting.

1. Personal Finance for Dummies is a good start.
Seriously. Also look to a mutual fund that has averaged 8% or better over the last 10-20 years.

But I thought the DUmmies hated Wall Street? :???:
My advice: invest heavily in pot & cheetos.

Sorry to disappoint but that's not for investment. That's beer and travel money. You are now owed nothing.
Have a nice day! :-)

The thread is amazingly free of snark. Raccoon had to point this out, though:

This DUmbass has obviously been insufficiently taxed.
What has happened to this country?

I think it's a mole. It took care of loans and debts first! :???:

Who died and left the idiot money?

Who died and left the idiot money?
More likely they will be unemployed soon because they embezzled the money from their boss.

Must be nice, to have the money to pay off your debt and invest some.
People are without jobs, and can't pay their debts, yet you are living it up like some under taxed gazillionaire that can afford to buy dresses from long dead Hollywood sex symbols. Next thing you know this DUmmy will be driving a pick up truck for show, not for work.
:-)

Heh! Wait until the dummy DOES invest, probably in a mutual fund, and gets taxed on the returns. I bet he won't be singing the raise taxes song then!!!
What these idiot dummies don't realize is that most of the old money rich invest in tax exempt bonds. It's the people like me and this particular dummy that are trying to sock away some money for retirement that get hit by the taxes.

Knocked out of the ball park. :rotf:

And own a 'massive' four story home, Coach bags, and a fully loaded vacation cruise package.

ADBot is way ahead of these guys - he has already delivered the Personal Finance for Dummies advice - I caught this a couple of months ago :)
