good shot by The BarackStar!
the china metaphor works on several levels; first, it brings to mind the story about the time
that she threw a lamp at bill in the white house (still wondering why the secret service didn't at
least shoot to wound on that one :-); she was attacking the president with intent to at least harm
him). And it also reminds everyone about "no controlling legal authority".
but all this constant complaining about how roughly he is being treated by a girl, especially when he is
going sharply more negative himself, just makes him look like a "sugar-britches".
Obama: Hillary Throwing "the China" at Me
In Downingtown, Pa., Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., took the remark by the Clinton campaign -- that she would be employing the "kitchen sink" strategy against him -- a step further.
"You know, over the last several weeks since she fell behind, she's resorted to what's called 'kitchen sink' strategies," Obama said, per ABC News' Sunlen Miller. "She's got the kitchen sink flying, and the china flying, and the, you know, the buffet is coming at me.
"And, you know, look, I come from Chicago, I know politics is hard, you know, it's not for the faint of heart, I understand that," Obama continued. "But when we end up involved in these constant distractions, these petty, trivial slash-and-burn, back-and-forth, tit-for-tat politics, so that we no longer talk about the things that the American people care about, that may be good for the television ratings, but it's not good for you."
Forgoing for a moment any discussion over the "china" metaphor -- certainly one that, intended or not, feeds into the "harridan" caricature of Clinton -- how on Earth can Obama with a straight face decry these "distractions" when his campaign that very same day organized a conference call to harp on Clinton's Bosnia-sniper-fire gaffe?

If you know so much, Islamobama, then you know mudslinging is a bonafide component to campaigning. It is every bit as important as "the issues". How else is the public suppose to find out who you are? By hearing only what YOU want to say? I think not.
Grow up, Magic Negro. This is politics. You can't call a time out. You can't choreograph the dance to suit your two LEFT feet.

how does he know that americans don't want to talk about the same things that he wants to avoid? that seems awfully pretentious.

More audaciousness!!!! The only good thing about all of this back-biting is that they are doing the Democratic party in from within. Let them turn and burn for a while.
I hope McCain's team and all of the GOP'ers out there are watching and learning. If we make nice amongst GOP factions, we can beat whomever survives this Democrat :gay:

unless he knows something no one else seems to know, I don't understand why he is going negative. it's virtually impossible for hillary to overtake him in either delegates or the popular vote, and he has become "the establishment candidate". all of the party elders are insisting that the superdelegates support the candidate that is ahead in delegates after the primaries are over (even though superdelgates were specifically invented for the opposite reason; to prevent the primaries from producing a candidate that the party elders considered "unelectable", and thus subvert the democratic process.), which is simply a slightly coded instruction to support The BarackStar!
I'm not sure he can hold himself up as the candidate that will completely change "business as usual" in washington when he is suddenly acting like all the other politicians.

He's offended. His arrogance is showing. He's coming across like the bitter, partisan hack he really is.

exactly. nothing new here. everyone move along.
I wonder if this will awake the ObamaZombies . . . . "OMG!! our savior is just like everyone else." we will probably need to post the suicide hotline 800 number over on DU. :-)

Well I must say, monitoring DU is going to be very entertaining over the new few months. :-)

yikes. I just read that hillary is $10 million in debt. she is beginning to look a lot like a dinosaur just a few minutes before that meteor hit 65 million years ago . . . it almost makes me feel sorry for her.*
*I said almost.
-
Well she won't lose PA without some fallout.
*off to buy more popcorn
-
She won't lose PA tomorrow, even he 's acknowledged that.

DU had an interesting thread over there about this titled: "If Obama is already the 'clear' winner, why isnt he beating her by far larger percentages?"
I think they may be starting to sense that they are, in fact, part of the fringe. And that outside of their echo chamber, Hilary is more moderate and keeps winning the big states where most of the Dems live.

hillary's new thing on the campaign trail is saying that The BarackStar! "can't close the deal".
if that isn't calling him out as a huge wimp, I don't know what is.

she was coming very close to taunting him this afternoon. I read that after she wind PA, Team Clinton will put on a full court press to force him -- shame him, if need be -- into another debate.
