Washing off pesticides from fruits and vegetables
What do you recommend to remove pesticides from (non-organic) fruits and vegatables? I've heard everything from scrubbing with a brush and washing in a solution with a modicum of bleach.
Please share your ideas.

3. I usually grapefruit seed extract, sometimes dishwashing liquid.
No, no, no, no.
No, no.
Grapefruit seed extract is for cats; it keeps them healthy and problem-free.
Stupid primitives.

4. Call me crazy...but I picked up a bag of small apples a week or so ago. And even after I washed the apple, I felt like I tasted bug spray on it. Could have been my imagination or not. I rewashed it with soap and water and it seemed a little better (maybe with a hint of soap, lol).
I usually buy apples individually and I've never tasted anything but the waxy stuff. Sometime I buy the big containers from Costco but those are so huge. Still, I have not tasted a pesticide taste on them. I think I will keep a bottle of vinegar solution at the sink now.

5. I just use soap and water
Just a dab of Dr. Bronner's will take most petroleum based crap off food. Some of it (like the crap they spray apples with) penetrates the skin, so I either realize I can't get away from all of it or I peel it.

A quick rinse in cold water. And thats it.

OH NO !
They've discovered a way around the PEST (Primitive Eradication Spray Team) program. Someone better ring the operations room and let the Director know.

Hard to believe that DUmp democrats, who rarely use soap on themselves, use it to spoil the taste of fresh fruits and vegetables.
No one is more aware than I of the ever-present and potentially fatal filth that permeates every single thing in Mexico and throughout Central America.
Anywhere south of the Rio Grande, except possibly inside some hospitals, every surface and every unboiled liquid seethes with fecal coliform bacteria, among other microbes and parasites. And that is where we get most of our winter vegetables and fruit.
Nevertheless, a good rinse in pure American tapwater is all you need to do for safe consumption.

That's all I do. Is it really that hard for the primitives to figure out?
Oh wait,...................yes it is. :-)

I use cold water too.

I make an effort with water, but know that I'm not getting 100% of the pesticides, germs, and grungey hand oil off the darn fruits or vegetables. Good grief. That's why God gave me an immune system. Exercise the darn thing (in moderation) and it will serve you well when you need it.
Eventually mine will probably fail me and I will succumb to disease and death. But, I'm not going to live in terror of some germs.
Uh-hem. Please excuse my rant.
