I'd have to agree with Herman Cain, simply being a member of a certain religion would not make them ineligible.  However, I'd have to be certain they were true Americans and completely loyal to our country first.  So, both 1 and 2...and probably more than just that.  However, I'd be just as careful choosing any staff member regardless of whether they are Christian, Jewish, atheist, etc. The point is to have those that love our country, understand our Constitution, and respect our laws on staff, period.

While I personally don't trust any of 'em, there is no way I could possibly broadcast that information - bein' a politician an' all.

Considering religion as a basis for not hiring someone is illegal. You know, it's that federal law called Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Now, there would probably be something else that would surface during the vetting process that would DQ a prospective candy-date, but it wouldn't be because of that person's religion.  :whistling:

Members of cults, however, should be excluded. Muslims are cultists. INMO.
