Title: Michele Bachmann won't seek re-election to Congress
Post by: pissant on June 14, 2011, 10:49:15 AM
MINNEAPOLIS -- U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann says she's not running for re-election in Minnesota's 6th Congressional District while she's campaigning for the Republican nomination for president.

However, state law would allow her to drop out of the presidential race and seek re-election for her current job by June 5, 2012.

That falls well after the key early presidential nominating contests in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina; but it's before the Republican National Convention in Florida in August.

She's going full throttle for POTUS.  Excellent!

She's got a steep hill to climb. Still, even if she doesn't get it she'd be perfect for attorney general. Someone's got to undo what Holder's done.

She was one of three conservatives on the stage last night.  As long as a conservative wins, we may yet save this country.

To anyone who says that she can't win, I would much rather have her lose to 0bama than for someone like Romney losing to 0bama. At least we will have an actual choice for once.

Personally I believe she could win not only the nomination, but the presidency as well.

Don't know if this country can survive another 4 years of 0bama. He CONSTANTLY defies the Constitution and no one calls him on it. In my lifetime I've never seen crony capitalism this bold or corrupt. And he gets away with it. Despite the midterm elections very few are calling for answers. Most of the new congress haven't been there long enough to have an influence. Change in this environment will take time. However with a chief executive who has broken the hold of elitist government and big business we can restore our country much faster.

But we're going to have to have people who are moral, patriotic, and fierce in jobs they would be best at. That's why I'd like to see Bachmann as AG. It's a VITAL job for this nation. Holder has made it his personal (and 0bama's) battering ram, picking and choosing battles that cater to the worst of identity politics. Some of it is just plain illegal. Michelle Bachmann's keen understanding of the Constitution makes her one of the few people I trust to clean up Holder's mess.
