We've been getting more than usual lately. And not very good ones at that.

chris_ and TVDOC are supposed to enjoy hanging around conservativecave, not policing it.
Anyway, there's been changes in the registration requirements, and I think they're damned good changes.

The deal is, sir, conservativecave has attracted a great deal of attention, and just grown and grown and grown and grown and grown.....
conservativecave two years ago isn't but a speck when compared with conservativecave today.
With traffic, comes trolls.
All five administrators here have the ban hammer, but because of commitments in real life of three of them keeping them away much of the time, the burden for watching newcomers has fallen mostly upon chris_ and TVDOC.
chris_ and TVDOC are supposed to be enjoying conservativecave, too, kicking off their shoes, putting up their feet, relaxing, and getting mellow. But they can't, what with all these trolls running amok.
This "tightening up" is one of the prices we pay for being such an awesome place. Everybody wants to be here.

Same here. I have been to forums where trolling was a serious problem. I remember back at CU, trolling was a huge problem. Some would come back over and over to be banned as many as 200 times! :mental: :loser:
As for trolls coming to the summer, it is true with any forum, political or not. I wonder who has been banned the most here at CC? I remember one troll being banned 200 times and another posting Mike Malloy stuff 75 times at CU.

I went to both and yeash...its like a marxist, anarchist, pagan cult. I found Dr Howl. This may be a coordinated attack, but I couldn't find a thread out in the open. They may have hidden forums.
Those people are demented to say the least. Criminally insane is not a far out assessment.

Proxy servers. They can bypass IP banning. Blocking e-mail address they use works.

Sounds like an organized troll attack happened here at CC. Never saw it coming. I am afraid more could happen later this summer.

Most of the spammers on CU have been from Russia lately. That's why we had the problem when you tried to join. Controls had been set up, but they proved to be a bit too strict and was sending anyone who registered a message that they had been banned. SR fixed it.
Good luck with the attack by the kids or worse.

Right, I forgot. IP's and emails were really the only thing I could block. And IP 'ranges'. Well, the names too but thats not usually the answer. In fact it oftentimes is a clue though.

When I squashed Jeff , Stelz and Madeline - Their IP addresses (several in some instances) were also blocked.
