If everyone simply paid using the progressive rates we currently have with no loopholes and special interest perks, there would be more than enough taxes paid I am sure.

It costs us $131 billion in one year just for the mortgage interest deduction which no poor person can take advantage of.

Poor people get the EITC are you proposing getting rid of that too?
If you are you are likely to get banned at DU.

9. Too bad

corporations aren't interested in saving the economy. What's stopping them from increasing wages?

"Nobody has any money, nobody buys anything, no need to hire more workers, therefore even more people have no money... it's all incredibly unsustainable."

Ironically, if businesses hired people, more people would have money to buy stuff and even more people could be hired. That would lead to a cycle of economic growth, which in turn would make businesses more profitable.

That is stupid.

13. Taxes as an instrument for social engineering is pretty much a failure   Updated at 6:52 PM

Most of the deductions, tax credits and other incentives were well intentioned, but have evolved into the mess we have today. The problem is everybody wants to keep theirs and take away what others get. I doubt I will live to see the kind of clean slate approach that is needed.

Why do you want to kill poor people by taking away the EITC?

I'm just guessing here but wouldn't you think that most tax laws were written the same people who are always wanting to tax more...in other words...democrats. So all the loopholes and exemptions were put in there to protect the democrat voter base.

...and Obamacare exemptions come to mind.

Wasn't that a proposal by the muslim's "Catfood Commission" that the DUmmies love to hate?
It sounds like a no-brainer for the democrats. We need something to drive down soaring real estate values.

Dear DUmmies,

Perhaps you weren't aware of the little tidbit circulating that if you took EVERY dime made by everyone making over $250K, you STILL wouldn't be able to cover the deficit.

I make half that, and I pay more in federal income tax, to say nothing of FICA/Medicare taxes, than most of you Cheeto-chomping, midget porn fapping, basement dwelling ****sticks have EVER paid into the system.  I see what you've done, how little you produce, how much you take, and yet still have the ****ing unmitigated gall to tell me I don't GIVE you enough?

**** you.  You want my guns?  Molon labe, ****er.  You want my earnings?  Molon labe there as well, you lazy ****ers.
