Another sleepless night
While people are just starting to get out of bed, I've managed to go another night without any sleep. Even after taking a sleeping pill, and even after I took some Benadryl to get drowsy. The sleeping pill doesn't work, and I guess the constant parade of thoughts running through my brain didn't help much, either.
Oh well.
I wish there were an Insomniacs Anonymous. Even if I can't sleep, I'd have someone to talk with at 4 in the morning.

3. Do you exercise?
Hard exercise always makes me tired

4. Unfortunately,
the amount of exercise I do is minimal. I did get to join the Y to swim, but I need to get my act together and get there more often than I do. It's the only place I can go where my joints and muscles don't bother me as much when I'm swimming.
Didn't see that one coming, now did you?

6. You may want to consider some form of meditation during the day or...
...early evening. Not only might you find relaxation, but you'll also be teaching your body how to relax at will. ...Not to mention the potential for growing more & more spiritually inspired.

Tell me about it. I've had serious sleep issues since my teens. It's 5AM right now.
I don't have any official diagnosis but the doctor hinted at DSPS, but the sleep clinic here take FOREVER to get refereed to thanks to people going there who don't need it.
I understand fully how the no sleep nonsense feels.

I just looked that up and it seems like a body clock issue. You are a night person. My husband is the same way. He used to fly B-52s, and their missions are usually 12 hours, overnight. He always sleeps solid in the morning (gets his best sleep from 4 a.m. onward. I'll have to show this DSPS to him.

I've got a short piece of well rounded hardwood that would resolve the problem instantly.

LC, I kinda prefer the lead injection solution, myself.

This is one situation where I'm happy to go with the environmentally friendly , completely reusable "eco friendly" alternative.
It's also much more satisfying.

Write him a poem, piggy. Those can put the sun to sleep.

Yikes! I wonder if any of those "thoughts" are his neighbor's dog talking to him.
One method I have heard that works for insomnia is to lay down in bed and give yourself a couple of whacks to the noggin with a two pound sledgehammer.

Wait, don't you live in Canada where healthcare is free to any and all who want/require it? Are you saying people abuse that system? Say it ain't so.
Sorry you have trouble sleeping. I've been in that boat since I left the Army. It sux but you learn to live with it.

Here in America, where we have the most backward healthcare system in the universe, I can call a specialist of any kind, and have an appointment within a week or two, max. For a surgery of any kind, even elective, my waiting time is measured in days, not weeks. Of course, I have to shell out a $40 co-pay for a specialist, so I guess that's why healthcare in the single-payer third world is better than America.

Not for long. Come 2014 we will get to also enjoy long wait times, reduced treatments, and even more packed emergency rooms. It will be a glorious future komrades, GLORIOUS!!

Try melatonin. You can purchase it at your local Walmart. ;)

I do believe that the local poet laureate saves this post to C&P, only changing the name.

I'm sure it's nothing some weed can't solve. It's their answer for everything. I lid of weed, KY jelly, and Cheetos...it's the DUmmy Emergency Management package.

True, except in the case of stevenumbers, trade out the KY for Johnson & Johnson hand lotion.
