So I Paid My Comcast Bill.....sort of.
Yesterday I dropped a check in the payment box at Comcast with a payment equal to 45 percent of what is due with a note explaining I will start to pay my bill in full when Networks start adding more content to shows that are carried across their lines including MSNBC,NBC.
They called me this morning wanting an explanation so I reinforced what the the intent of my note.
In the letter I said there are now 16-18 minutes of commercials per every 30 minute slot hence the 45 percent payment. I said I do not believe I should have to be the one not only spend money on products advertised but also have to subsidize advertising cost through my cable bill.
They gave me a 30% off my bill if I paid in full today so I will do the same next month.
Corporate American wants to taker over all aspects of our lives...this is a way I will fight against it.
Bullshit. They called to say you have 5 days or they will cut you off.

1. How is this comcast's fault? It's the goddam network that sells the ad time
2. bullshit. 30 minute slots allow for 22.5 minutes of content on average.
lying liars lie

DUmmy rsmithnumbers has been trying for some time to develop a reputation for coming up with really absurd stories.
Most have been a lot better than this one.
-
They gave me a 30% off my bill if I paid in full today so I will do the same next month.
Please do that.
We look forward to your non-update in a month.
Maybe Cc did give the primative a break.
They most certainly won't on the next bill. :rotf:
The whinning and pouting will be award winning.
One more thought.
I wonder if his ISP is Comcast? :whistling:

Probably should check out his credit report in a few weeks. There may be a little surprise there...

I really love reading about DUmmy protests and boycotts. Their futile attempt never seem to achieve its goal. The crying afterward is priceless.

Beat me to it. I was going to say; We DVR most of the programs we want to watch and a 30 minute program takes approximately 20 minutes to watch. Not 12 or 14 but approximately 20.

Boing-boing-boing....
Here is a little fact for you primitives --
Q. How many major corporations actually read your checks when you pay them ?
A. Almost none. Because of the sheer volume of mail received, check payments are read and processed electronically, save for what few are deemed illegible by the electronic reader, which are then siphoned off to be processed manually. These machines open the envelope, retrieve the contents, read the routing number info on the check and the amount its made out for. the information is then bounced off your bank, and if the funds are there, the bill is paid.
Notice I didn't write that the machine reads who the check is made out to.. If you make the mistake of sending the payment for your water bill to your phone company, the phone company will cash that check and apply it against your bill.
So, nobody read your little note, and if they did, it was long after it was separated from your bill, once it ended up in the reject pile.

Bullshit, this did not happen. If you don't pay it, you get cut off.
You're right, Miskie, I've done that job. If the little note made it to someone's desk, it got promptly thrown away.
But Rsmith is one of my favorite DUmmies, those stories are always a hoot. He's such an asshole with each and every post. Consistency is important in quality control, you know. He gets a vote from me every year.
Wonder if his wife ever got that job, so she could fulfil her destiny and "be a grandma." :rotf: He's such a douchebag and she probably is too.

5. I don 't get your math
If I go to Hulu to watch 30 Rock, or use my FIOS cable to watch the "The Killing" (for example), I get approximately 21.5 and 48 minutes of programming, to which advertising is then added. That seems to be about 6-8 minutes of ads/30 minutes time slot.
I agree with your premise, and one need only watch shows from the 80s on DVD to see how muck more time is devoted to ads (and less to actual script writing), but where so you get your number? What shows do you watch that are only 12 minutes long? Do you only watch Adult Swim?
:lmao:
Busted.

They can't afford food but they have cable TV and internet access...I, on the other hand, eat well and suck my TV outta the air for free. Hey, life is a bunch of choices. Do you want to eat or view TV, eat or talk smack about politics?

Indeed - BTW, this primitive is correct - The Adult Swim cartoonists on Cartoon Network are the kings of the 11 minute program.

I am done paying all my bills on time.

I gotta disagree with you, Sparky. To a DUmmie, checks give the appearance that you support Big Banking. DUmmies are more of the artistic type. This is probably more accurate:
