GREENVILLE, SC -- June 8, 2011 -– Congressman Jeff Duncan (R-SC) will be joining Republican and Tea Party activists as they call on Sen. Jim DeMint to run for President. Believing that DeMint is the best candidate to beat Barack Obama, conservatives across the country are urging him to enter the 2012 race. Conservatives4DeMint is holding a “Draft Jim DeMint†rally on Saturday, June 18, at 11am at Falls Park in the Carolina First Amphitheater in Greenville. Congressman Duncan and popular radio host Dr. Tony Beam are scheduled to speak at the event. The public is invited to attend.

This came to me from the head of the local Tea Party.
Friends: Report from Senator DeMint meeting
Tuesday I had the great privilege of meeting in Washington with Senator Jim DeMint. He and his staff are always gracious and helpful. Special thanks to Kelly Long, Julie Blackorby, and Carla Campbell.
Please do not read more into this or try to read between the lines. There was no “secret†communication. . .
I asked Senator DeMint what his thoughts were about the current presidential field and how it was shaping up.
He reminded me what happened 4 years ago. Many people committed to candidates so early in the race, that when we got to the SC Primary, conservative voters were scattered all over the place.
He is also convinced we have not seen all the candidates yet. That there are some more great candidates that just have not jumped in. . . yet.
And no, he did not mention any names.
Senator DeMint’s advice to SC Republicans and the TEA Party . . .
Watch, Listen, Evaluate the candidates.
See where they stand on the issues that are important to us.
DO NOT JUMP TOO SOON to support one candidate!
Keep your powder dry. It is still over 7 months until the primary.
On a different note, but to reinforce why this is so important, I also met with several other friends while in DC. The assessment is consistent, the most important primary in the country is right here in South Carolina. So, we will get lots of attention from the major candidates. We are in a position to evaluate these candidates. It is essential we make wise decisions.
This reinforces why Senator DeMint’s comments are so relevant to us today.
My personal comments; Keep Praying that God will raise up the leader He wants us to have, which might not be the one we want. Pray for our strong conservative representatives wherever they serve.
Winston
Forward this to everyone you know. Spread it around the country.

That's why all the people who keep saying everyone needs to jump in now are nuts. This is a process not a race.
