Rick Santorum: Climate change is ‘junk science'
Edited on Thu Jun-09-11 12:51 PM by The Northerner
Rick Santorum is no Mitt Romney when it comes to global warming science.

Appearing on Wednesday on Rush Limbaugh's radio show, the former Pennsylvania GOP senator jumped at the chance to distinguish himself from his Massachusetts rival by displaying his climate skeptic credentials.

he is one who chooses what science he cares to believe in...

i'll bet that stem cell science was bullshit to him too, eh ricky boy?

Now...I freely admit I lack the requisite level of intelligence to be a liberal but I'm pretty sure meterologists will tell you tornadoes are not affected by AGW, assuming such a thing actually existed.

And I'm really going to go out on a limb to suggest AGW cannot effect deep-ocean tectonic shifts that lead to earthquakes and their resulting tsunamis.

11. As soon as someone says "I believe" something that disagrees with science.
Edited on Thu Jun-09-11 01:19 PM by RadiationTherapy
I stop listening. You are welcome to believe the research is wrong, but one doesn't get to 'believe' or 'not believe' evidence-based research.

Unless we want to talk about the notion that every single event not witnessed or analyzed directly by you is doubtful. This is why we can't have a good society. We don't trust our specially educated/trained people. Teachers, scientists, economists - every one is doubtful when politics is the biggest business in the nation. We used to 'believe' our scientists were publishing well-researched theories - believed they were the best and brightest capable of that work, anyway. Now, everyone is 'second-guess-able', regardless of training. And since politics if the biggest business in the nation, everyone has an agenda. So we don't trust each other any more. The end.

IOW: credentials should supercede evidence.

Galileo called and said, "STFU n00b!"

I hope science will one day return to being the art of skepticism.

Yeah because we never had a devastating tornado or tsunami before!

DUmb as shit.  How do these people ever remember to breathe?

So you deny the earth warming by three-tenths of a centigrade can cause tectonic plates thousands of feet under water to shift and buckle?

What kind of paid-off, anti-sciencyness goon are you?

And, you know, the oil found on the North Slope of Alaska, far above the Arctic Circle, originated from the residue of tropical forests.
It's been proven, as well, that George Bush cannot explain his whereabouts a hundred million years ago.
At this point, there's no evidence of a connection, but it should be investigated.

I thought everyone already knew that The Next Ice Age, Global Warming, Global Climate Change, etc doesn't cause tsunamis. The BFEE tsunami machine causes tsunamis.

Okay, how about this:

Based on the follow facts, I am highly skeptical regarding Global Warming:

There have been serious issues with the gathering of data regarding global temperatures (Poor placements of temperature stations (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columnists/christopherbooker/3563532/The-world-has-never-seen-such-freezing-heat.html))

Predictions regarding arctic ice melting have been shown false by an increase in arctic ice: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/08/15/goddard_arctic_ice_mystery/ (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/08/15/goddard_arctic_ice_mystery/)

Fundamental flaws have been shown in the recording of data regarding global temperatures http://www.technologyreview.com/Energy/13830/ (http://www.technologyreview.com/Energy/13830/)

I can provide more if you want.

Our history is characterized by extreme highs and lows in temperatures.  Ice Ages and warm periods have both helped humans in the past.  It is likely that Native Americans used an ice bridge formed by an Ice Age to pass from Asia to North America.  Unusually warm weather (Medieval Warm Period) likely allowed the Vikings to extend their explorations to Greenland and beyond.  Our recorded temperatures are such a small fragment of human history that it is the height of arrogance to think that know what is happening with the climate.

NEVER!  It obviously is a cause of a very serious kind of global climate change.  We need to crunch the weather numbers so we can prevent tornadoes and earthquakes from ever happening again.  But first, we must ban all SUVs.

I love the breathless announcements of unprecedented storms with death tolls and destruction not seen since 19 blah-blah-blah.

Uh, that's not unprecedented then Morons.

Since all of today's droughts are caused by "Global Climate Change," I really have to wonder what was the force behind the horrible multi-year droughts recorded in the Bible.   Maybe they were actually hauling their tents and sheep around in big diesel trucks...   :rotf:

Everyone knows the climate change-deniers planted evidence of the ice age to tempt doubters away from true belief.

No reasonable person denies that the earth's climate has fluctuated up and down ever since there's been an atmosphere. It changes back and forth in geologic time. Centuries and millenia are shorter than a blink of the earth's eye. To DUmmies, geologic time began with the New Deal. We don't call 'em DUmmies for nothing.

WTF are you now giving away secrets?   Bradley Manning?

Turn in the VRWC card.  Now.

Uhh maybe you did not get the memo but plate tectonics is driven by magma, which itself is the result of the heat produced by the planet's formation 4.5 billion years ago. Not breathing, not cow farts, not internal combustions or coal fired power planet emissions.

DUmbass.
