When you cross the line from politics to a couple's marriage, you've crossed into Shut the **** Up
territory.
The nature of a politician's marriage is none of our business. Even more to the point, how dare we tell people how they ought to act toward their spouses.
We may all agree that Weiner, Gingrich, Schwartzeneger, Edwards, Sanford, Spitzer, and all the others are pigs. Or not. But when we get into giving our unrequested opinions on the proper behavior of their spouses, we are the ones crossing the line.
I may think Maria should clean Arnold's clock, but the fact is, that's her business and not mine. The best thing I can do is shut my pie hole.
It's odd.
We're told we should not decide the fate of the offender, only the spouse.
And the spouse is not to be counciled to one decision or the other...
...or so the appearance is presented.
But what these sorts are really saying is they want to hold on to their Weiner and never let it go. If the spouse turns then that ruins their game. Make no mistake: the escape hatch for the listed GOPers is merely an empty, lip-synched paean to Fairness.
Marriage, after all, is supposedly thicker than politics...although from all appearances the congressman seems to be lacking some of that thickness. It's not the sort of thing one can hang his hat on. After all, what bride would stand at the altar with the caveat "for better or for worse so long as it doesn't interfere with elective office"?
So marriage is placed on the pedestal.
But the pedastal itself is just a facade.
What Stink-eye is really saying is "I will hold on to my Weiner until such time as his wife pries it from my cold, sweaty hands."
But even then Stink-eye still wants his Weiner so he is saying when he asks everyone else to STFU he really wants Mrs. Weiner to STFU.
If Stink-eye had even half the balls seen in TwitDicPics he'd council a divorce; not over any moral outrage but simply for practical terms of avoiding any accusations of adultery. Stink-eye wants his loyal party apparatchik to remain in the halls of power, condemnations be damned and the marriage is a detractor. Keep the power, chuck the bitch.

2. I don't care if he lied to his wife...
he lied to me...and to you.
And then he did it again...
And then he did it again.
True. True. But the most egregious offense is he accused innocent people of federal crimes.
One must wonder if such an abuser ought to be in a position of authority to legislate, accuse, subpeona, etc.

There is also the fact that such infidelities leave the person open to blackmail, or at the very least offering a position of power to someone not qualified. (Barney Frank and his gay lover? Also, Weiner offered the use of his PR people to a porn actress)

All true but remember: whenever you hear liberals pleading for sexual privacy, i.e. abortion, birth control, adultery, etc you must always keep in mind...
...there is no urge for privacy, they are demanding power in a given scenario be it gender, religion or politics.
They are never truly altruistic, merely greedy and self-serving. Ergo, the lies--which Frank rightly notes are incessant--serve the policy that serve the liberal.
Blackmail? Misuse of government resources?
Triflings!
These are to the liberal culture war what torpedos planes were to the Japanese empire: merely tools. The real issue is the expansionist megalomania, the culture war itself.

Damn, who does he think he is? Charlie Sheen?

If a person will lie to their spouse, the supposed most important person in their life, what won't they lie about?
That is what it is about dear morally (& mentally) bankrupt DUchebags.

Forget the position of authority, how about his automatic congressional security access?
Anyone else would have it pulled the minute something like this was discovered.
If he was that quick to lie to everyone about the whole thing I'm sure he would have had no problem cooperating with anyone and turning anything over to keep it all under wraps. He's a major security risk and needs to go now!

It would appear that the smelly buffoon is trying to rebuild his street cred after the spanking he recieved a couple days ago.

Maybe I haven't been paying attention enough, but who's been telling Weiner's wife how she should behave? She married the scum. Given his political viewpoints, she had to know that things like morals and him keeping his word wasn't ever part of his makeup. Probably isn't part of her makeup either. How she handles the whole situation is her problem as far as I'm concerned.
