Uh oh.

This is the third one I've seen today, where a forum's being considered for non-inclusion in the upcoming new and unimproved Skins's island.

Been around a while? Help save this place, the ax is coming to DU forums

Skinner posted that the Admins are about to be cutting deadwood...go to DU3 and select this as one of your groups.

See below...

The mental health primitives are upset about this possible non-inclusion, but unlike as with the household hints or eBay forums, I think this might actually be a good idea, eliminating the mental health forum.

franksolich is all for it, and enthusiastically so.

True, decent and civilized people would miss out on a lot of laughs, but one must consider humanity as a whole.

Primitives with mental health problems should be consulting with professionals, not with other primitives.

Other primitives are not going to solve their problems; professionals might.

Primitives with mental health problems suffer a lack of good judgement, being uninhibited to the point where they talk too much, giving other primitives with malicious motives an opportunity to take advantage of them.

It should be eliminated, afterall it doesn't serve any purpose considering that democraticunderground.com is all one big mental health forum.

Exactly, Jason.  Coach, all of the batshit-crazy . . . well, even more batshit-crazy than the rest of the DUmp . . . primitives will now post in GD.  It'll be that much easier to find their campfires to pull over here.

To echo the above - DU as a whole is one big mental health forum - a live experiment that the pioneers of psychology would have loved the opportunity to study.

Well, I vote to keep the mental health forum, and my vote will carry exactly as much weight with Skimmer as that of a DUmmy.
The old nuthatch has been pretty quiet lately, but when it's really hopping it is a thing of wonder.
Like the Army recruiting commercial, there's DUmp crazy, but then there's DUmp mental health forum crazy.
Some of the addled DUmmies are just sad, but many of them are hilarious.

What's worse, the nuthatch's next-of-kin, the 9/11 troofer group, may also be shitcanned.

I have no idea why they'd want to discuss all this in public anyway. If you need to vent there are mental health forums that are very private and they're monitored by mental health professionals.

At the very least, Skins should have a "hold for administrative review" mechanism, where whenever a mental health primitive comments on something, it doesn't get posted until he or Lord Marblehead or the elusive enigmatic Elad read it first, and approve it.

There's really a difference between the troofers and the run-of-the-mill crazies there? Really? Srsly?

If they have a mental problem, they should step away from DU. It's full of nutcases.  :mental:

I think there are certain forums that should be totally private and you need to join the forum to see it. There are people who have stresses in their life and don't always have someone around to talk too, and at least if it was private they would feel a little bit safer to vent.

You would think that the more sane at DU would realize that-  why else do they think we study them ?

There are far bigger Democrat-filled forums on the internet, yet we read DU, Why ? - The answer, dear lurkers, is your forum is full of 'Teh Crazeeee' - which makes it far more interesting and hilarious. -- At least to me.

DU and mental health mentioned in the same sentence?

Unpossible!

I don't care too much about their mental health forum, as long as their mental illness forum, General Discussion, is still available.

Haven't read that subforum very much, but what I have read is....shocking, and interesting to say the least. I'd be interested in having "The Craziers" post their clap trap in the GD forum.
