Oh my.

It's from the Associated Press, hence no copy-and-paste.

But in summary, it's about a homeless shelter in Los Angeles that is now charging visitors $7 a night.

As it's pointed out in the article, many of the homeless are on the social security disability gravy-train, circa $845 a month in California.

I have a little problem with this.

The Salvation Army runs soup kitchens for the hungry, it matters not if the people are in dire straits or arrive in a BMW wearing furs and expensive jewelery.   All that are hungry are fed.

Now these non profit missions that shelter those that say they need help have decided to charge money from their customers.    Does this legally mean the shelter is no longer a non profit business???

Is it the business of a shelter to do anything but shelter the homeless??   Is it their business to do more then provide a bed, a cot and 3 hots???

Where did the shelters go from asking no questions and have an open door for those in need???
When did the shelters get into the business of social engineering and decide whats best for their clients.

Interesting, how the liberal establishment with feed the poor can come around to feed them if they can pay.    Give shelter to those that need it, ask for it, but check their bank account first.

A true shelter never asks for payment for their services, In the middle of a snow storm do our churches bar the homeless from seeking shelter over night unless they can pay the church first????

" We love you Brother, you are cold, homeless and need to keep from freezing to death.  We do not judge you, you may spend the night.------However you must cross our palms with silver to gain entrance to your salvation from the cold, entrance to this shelter.  On your way buster, what, you want something for nothing.????
