Too funny -- Fox news ticker gets hacked.
This is brilliant. Someone hacked into the Fox News ticker (the giant lighted headlines that continuously stream around the building) and, uh...told the truth. "YOU ARE BEING LIED TO" and "AMERICA IS NOT BROKE," among others, circled the building for quite a while while people grabbed cameras to record the rare moment of actual "fair and balanced" reporting...

5. One more IT guy is looking for another job in NYC!
I'm sure they'll find a way to blame President Obama for this.

41. A couple of thoughts and observations...since I posted this.
To the people saying there is a "white line" at the top of the Cavuto poster at 00.29...well, yeah, and there is a white line to the right of it, too, consistent with the lighting. It's called a window frame. It's there pretty much the whole time. Just because you can see it better when they changed camera angles doesn't make it a matte. line.
As for the woman's reaction...she and the camera guy seem to have been sent there knowing that the hacker was going to go live with this. They were there to catch it on film. Her reaction seems perfectly natural to me. If I had just hacked a Fox New banner in Times Square, I'd be kind of giddy, too. I don't see why anyone thinks her excitement is cannot be genuine.
As for the banner itself, while I'm no After Effects or Premiere expert, I do know this stuff pretty well, as it's part of my job. If someone faked that scroll and matched it all up to the movement of the camera and the shifting angles and perspectives, then damn...send us your resume. Some damn fine work. Obviously, with CGI these days anything is possible. But this seems exceptionally well done for YouTube hoax. Except for the supposed white matte line over the Caputo poster (which I don't buy), the scroll matches perfectly, and at every angle.
Finally, why isn't there any news story about this? Well...Fox surely wouldn't run it. And if I were an exec at ABC/NBC/CBS or anyone with a similar marquee in Times Square, would I really want to call attention to this and risk spawning copycats? Think about it. If someone knew Fox was hackable like that, wouldn't the giant NASDAQ marquee be next, or any of the other hundreds of similar signs in Times Square? It would seem like highlighting this episode would be like a dare for the next guy. While I'm not 100% convinced it's real, I'm sure as hell not convinced it's a fake, either.
Lots of primitives commenting at this campfire, but they're predictable comments.

The slightly less insane posters at Kos are saying it is fake and the headlines scrolling across the screen at the begining of the clip were from May 9th and not on May 30th which the clip was supposed to have been made.
-
I watched it and believe its fake -- the hoaxer overplayed his hand. The hoaxer added a movielike hack effect to the sign when the new text was 'interjected' - The effect indicates that the news crawl is a set of video screens coping with a change in resolution and whatnot and not an LED display.
LEDs have two modes. ON and OFF. They don't switch resolutions.

Why not? Everything that man touches, he destroys.

Interesting.
A fake hack job on Fox news is good.
A "possible" toasting of the Weiner is allll bad.
Get your turds in a row, DUmmies.

"Stop making us look dumb"
It's as if they are trying to physically grab the intangible.
:lmao: The scamdal proved they'll fall for anything. This is just a tip in the humongous bucket.

Chasing farts to paint them green???

:lmao: You just reminded me of the Bob&Tom bit where they sing a song about changing the smell of farts to perfume, fruits, and stuff. Can't remember the name of the product though. :rotf:

I don't know about "Bob & Tom", but "John Boy and Billy" advertise something called "Colonel Hanson's Turd Polish".

If I still had B&T VIP access, I could look it up in a jiffy. They play it on 24/7 somewhat frequently as well. Sadly, I had to give it up. Very good deal though. $30 bucks for 6 WHOLE MONTHS!! Pennies a day. I would recommend it to anyone.

Flatulante. Hilarious, and goes into what we've been talking about in an off sort of way. :-)

Sign Hack = clearly fake : look at 0:33 - 0:35 the fox sign magically gets thicker just as the camera zooms in and the sign is "hacked" and only a lib would send out a hawt chick to film a fake hack instead of keeping her home and warm in bed.
And that drivel was the best they could up with? No bashing of either Bush, no defending cigar trysts in the oval office closet? What about the birth certificate, this was there chance to have Fox proclaim it real!! Squandered a true opportunity there.
-
I see some are already resorting to the old "fake, but accurate" bit. :whatever:
This has the exact same feel as that fake "Temple Mount UFO" video from a few months ago.
-
Squandered a true opportunity there.
Remember, we're talking about Pedro Picasso here, sir.
It should be no surprise.

As for the banner itself, while I'm no After Effects or Premiere expert, I do know this stuff pretty well, as it's part of my job.
Whoa! Increased responsiblity for Pedro! As the number three cartoon boy on a staff of three, he's been limited to drawing blank speech bubbles.
This post implies that he has now been entrusted with drawing blank banners as well! Of course, it may just mean that the number two cartoon boy on the staff of three has been off work with perhaps an attack of gout, or maybe some oral surgery. That might result in Pedro temporarily taking over the blank banners, and simultaneously forcing the number one cartoon boy to print words in the bubbles and banners, as well as drawing the actual cartoon figures. The number one cartoon boy must really be pissed about this.
This banner thing could be the big break Pedro needs to start moving up in the junk mail business. That's important, considering that he's still on the lowest imagineable rung, continuing to live off his wife's income, as he has since the day of their marriage. Needless to say, he has a strained relationship with the in-laws, having never been able to support a family.
-
"part of his job"... he looks over the other guy's shoulder while he's at his desk.

59. I agree. I'm getting pretty tired of losing because we're "polite."
WTF? At some point one has to fight. "Thank you, sir! May I please have another" is no way to win an election.
You know, I've heard that line of bullshit or variations of it from you assholes until I could puke.
When have you ever been "polite" to begin with? When have you ever "played nice" or "taken the high road"? You've been obnoxious jerks from Day One. Then you try to hold yourself out as better than any one else. "Oh, we don't sink that low." "Oh, but we don't hate. We are just angry, and our anger is righteous." "Oh, when we play our dirty tricks it's justified because the future of the human race is at stake."
Kiss my big, white buttocks, you insane, un-self-aware ****.

Pedro will fall for anything.
Poor Pedro.
SpankMe
56. Probably faked.
But, people should do these Photoshop-jobs anyway and flood the internet with clever homemade videos and still images of altered signs on right wing institutions.
Fake the Fox news scrolling sign. Fake the signs in front of right wing churches. Fake political billboards erected by right wing nut jobs. Just don't do it for real - do it virtually and post it. Endlessly. Sew doubt. Obfuscate conservative messages. Protest with virtual vandalism. Fight. These ****ers are winning. 2012 will be a real fight, and the Democratic party isn't being forceful at all in opposing the Republican agenda. WE have to do it.
Hey, since the left can't win in the arena of ideas, I suppose lying has to become both your first and last line of defense.

What chance do the DUmmies have pulling tricks, considering they're stupid, and after giving Rove a 12-year head start?
And don't forget, they may have Ron Paul, but we own Diebold.
