WTH/ BREAKING: MSNBC Suspends Ed Schultz Over ‘Unacceptable’ Remarks
MSNBC has announced that Ed Schultz will be given a one week suspension without pay for “unacceptable†comments Schultz made, calling Laura Ingraham a “right wing slut,†and then, in a second comment, a “talk slut.â€
The comments were not made on Schultz’s MSNBC program, The Ed Show, but on his syndicated radio show. Still MSNBC has released a statement late Wednesday:
MSNBC management met with Ed Schultz this afternoon and accepted his offer to take one week of unpaid leave for the remarks he made yesterday on his radio program. Ed will address these remarks on his show tonight, and immediately following begin his leave. Remarks of this nature are unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

Republicans NEVER apologize for what they say. I can't recall ever hearing an apology from a Republican talk show host like, Limbaugh any of them. Is it just me?

Most of us will apologize for them, but when was the last time you heard someone like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly, Glen Beck, Michael Savage, or any Republican Government Official apologize for any thing. MSNBC has suspended Ed Schultz for one week after he called fellow radio talker Laura Ingraham a “slut†twice on his radio show yesterday.
Schultz will address the remarks on his show tonight, and then take a week off. “Remarks of this nature are unacceptable and will not be tolerated,†reads the MSNBC statment.

I'm a woman, and the word slut doesn't even offend me. She IS a slut, selling out to the right (which has hardly been supportive of women's rights). There's no difference between calling her a slut, or calling a male right-wing talker a prostitute (as Keith Olbermann did).
MSNBC's just looking for any little thing they can use to make it so intolerable for Ed, that he'll leave the way Keith did. Those two guys are the only gutsy hosts MSNBC has.
