In another thread frank wrote of contacting professional anthropologists about DU. I also wish a varied group of ologists (psychologists, sociologists, etc) would take up a study of DU. I have a lot of questions concerning them that I would love to have answered. The recent posts that Freeper brought over concerning Cain (http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,59440.0.html) reminded me of them once again. These questions are not being asked facetiously, and I've asked them before. I keep hoping that one day a semi-lucid DUer will come on and give some answers.
1. Why do the primitives hate babies and love killing them? They are against executing terrorist or criminals. They are against killing animals. So why do they love killing unborn babies? I realize that they claim that the babies are only clumps of cells, but if they really believed that why are they so against sonograms before abortions and photos of abortions? A sonogram or photo of a clump of cells shouldn't be anything to be afraid of. Right?
2. Why do they hate black people? Sure, they claim otherwise, but they are the ones who claim black folks can't make it on their own and need entitlement programs and stuff like affirmative action. They are also the first ones to call any black person who thinks for himself an Uncle Tom.
Their constant screams of "racist" toward conservatives reminds me of something that happened around here a good while back. My wife and I had a married friend who I'll call "M". We had known M for a long time. Long before she got married. After she had been married for a few years my wife told me that M's husband was cheating on her. I asked the wife how she knew this. The wife said that M's husband was constantly accusing M of cheating. I looked at her kind of confused. She said the if M wasn't at work she was at home taking care of the two kids. You see, M's husband worked out of state and only came home about once a month so M had to do all of the family chores and child raising herself in addition to her daytime job. My wife said that M didn't really have time to cheat, that there was no evidence that she was cheating, and usually if one spouse accused the other spouse of cheating without any cause or evidence it meant that accusing spouse was the one that was cheating. I just shrugged my shoulders. Within a year M got divorced because she found out her husband was cheating.
3. Why do they hate the Jews? They tend to love Muslims but hate the Jews. Muslims would cut their heads off, hang them or stone them. The Jews have no desire to do them harm. The Jews just want a place to live and to be left alone.
4. Why do they hate Christians? Sure, a Christian may say "God bless you" or "Merry Christmas". A Christian may say he or she will pray for you. A Christian may even tell you that he or she disagrees with your lifestyle, but as I mentioned above, they don't hate the Muslims. So why the Christians?
5. Why do they hate the United States? They constantly brag about other countries like Cuba, France, Canada, etc., yet they remain here. They are free to leave, but they refuse to. I know they claim they can't afford to leave, but surely if they saved just a little of their entitlement money each month they would eventually have enough to escape.
6. Why do they constantly lie? And are the other primitives really so stupid that they believe the lies? Or do they simply pretend to believe the Bouncy Tales?

Mental diseases, many of them. What the internet has done is taken very isolated (rightly so) mentally ill people and allowed them to congregate. Sadly, this takes away the shame they should have for their bizarre views and makes them think they are mainstream.

Mental illness does not run rampant at DU. Laziness, substance dependence, and scamming the system do. People with mental illness tend to not act the way the people over at DU act. I've been living with mental illness my whole life and have encountered many on the way. Obviously, this evidence is anecdotal but, then again, there's not much science going on over there save the occasional foray into cinderblocks and chickenwire.
These people are self-diagnosed for the most part. People who actually suffer from mental illness and are actually aware of that fact tend to want to get better and work to those ends accordingly. This means a carefully measured prescription protocol (assuming drugs work and the side effects aren't crippling), maintaining a disciplined schedule, NO alcohol, NO other illicit substances, regular exercise, regular meals, regular jobs, regular contact with other people, and regular therapy.
Notice the regulars - that's the key. I see none of that across the internet pond. If you were actually ill, wouldn't you want to get better? In general, these folks don't seem to want any improvement, just attention, free money, and some more drugs. That's not mental illness, that's just sad and pathetic.
Real people with mental illness who want to recover don't say, "I can't work because I have X, pay me." We say, "The pain I feel everyday will probably interfere with my former profession as a roofer but I'll bet I could volunteer at a church or library and ease back in that way."
Sorry for the extended whine but this pisses me off to no end and here's why: true mental illness is fairly rare but really serious and debilitating. So long as we have fools self-diagnosing and scamming the system, no one is ever going to take it seriously and try to find out how to get it fixed. For me, this is a very serious issue, mainly because the drugs are almost worse than the disease.
