I am SO Angry. State of Kansas Gutted Schools Spent millions on
13.8 billion dollars. That's next year's Kansas state budget. And while politicians clash over cuts that affect real people, KAKE News has uncovered questionable spending. Almost $40 million for travel, $21 million listed as confidential, half a million in newspaper and magazine subscriptions. Do they really need all that?
Sunday night at 10, KAKE's Deb Farris tries to separate the truth from the talking points and shows you what's "Buried In The Budget"-A KAKE News special report Sunday at 10.
http://www.kake.com/home/headlines/Buried_In_The_Budget...
WHAT THEY SPENT IN "TRAVEL" WOULD HAVE SAVED 298 JOBS IN JUST OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT ALONE
This will be like the rest of Mrs Dawson's campfire, low attendance.
I found this statement very revealing. She had t base the 298 on her salary.
40 million = 298 positions= 134,000 per teaching position.
Revealing indeed.

4. Travel where? Who?
One of the few times that Anne Pritchett makes a reply in a Pam Dawson screed.

5. don't know yet...but Wichita schools alone had to cut 30 million from our budget
gone are a lot of music programs, they cut librarians, Driver's Ed and even sports
Charter schools are the answer.
Awaiting Hanna Bell, the ex public school bus driver, to open her trap.

As long as there's money to pay an illiterate dunce like Pam, they haven't cut enough.
-
It's 168 positions.

Which granted is a quite a lot.

Scratch that, it is actually 268 because they cut 100 earlier this year. They have an operating budget of $632 million, which is staggering to begin with.
They have made massive cuts which are far reaching, and hit teachers the hardest. I loathe Pam, but don't blame her when you read about the nonsense expenditures of corrupt state governments. That said, with a $632 million budget I am willing to guess that there is a lot of bloated waste in this district's budget also.
They go right to teacher cuts also, which makes me go hmmmm. Pam should be out of the street. You need look no further than her continued employment to show proof that tenure (professional status) is killing education in this country.

All paid with taxes from those who are working longer hours for less money to a group that seeks to brainwash their charge into little socialist moonbats.

"Resource Officer": Was once called a "Policeman". Now they have 2 to patrol the high school I went to in the early '60's. Paddle some ass and throw the bad apples out....and let teachers carry weapons if it's that bad. Schools should be run by adults not kids.
"Grief Counselors": That's gotta be a liberals wet dream job. Kids died in car wrecks, committed suicide, had hunting accidents and we had to deal with it best way we could....hey, it made us tough and made us understand death wasn't fun. So now they take the pain outta death so little Johnny can shoot the doper that doesn't pay his drug bill and not feel bad about it...hell, he's just dead.
"Free Meals": First it was just a free lunch, then they added a free breakfast....and then after school snacks .....and now damn it they feed some of them during the summer vacation. Kids get the idea that everything is free, just take what you want. Stop all that free lunch BS. Fire the kitchen staff. It may seem harsh but it'll teach parents and kids a valuable leason.

You know packing a lunch every day is just to much like work. I don't like it. It interferes with my internet time. /dumpmonkey

Sh!t like this just chaps my ass. Our school budget has also ballooned almost 30% just for classes, aides, materials, and bi-lingual teachers to teach frikking English as a 2nd language.

30% in one year? Shame on whoever approved that budget.

me thinks I see a problem...must be more of the kids of those people who just came here to work.

The school system here would rather lay off teachers and close magnet schools than fire one administrator. :banghead:

I'm going to go out on a limb here and surmise it's the administrators that get to make those decisions.
