Title: OK, what's up with Cali?

I want to say a word about sex and children
Children are sexual creatures. That folks, is just a fact. Our sexuality and sexual feelings are a part of us from childhood. They don't magically appear at puberty. And pretending that children aren't sexual while exploiting them sexually is endemic in our culture. So how do we sort this all out?

Is a 15 year old old enough to consent to sex? Is it OK if he/she has sex with a 16 year old but not a nineteen year old?

Do we, in this culture, want to punish kids for their sexuality? Do we infantalize teenagers?

A really interesting book on the subject is "Harmful to Minors" which challenges the conventional thinking on the subject.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmful_to_Minors

I don't know what the answers are or how we go about protecting them with persecuting them for their sexuality but I do know that, for instance, you can't avoid all power imbalances within sexual relationships or protects young people from making mistakes or experimenting.

Notice the lecturing tone.

Of course the OP completely overlooks the point: just because teens may want to be sexual doesn't mean they have any good sense concerning its ramifications. That's why they aren't allowed to legally own credit cards, drink alcohol, get body piercings or enter into contracts.

But that's besides the point.

Note how cali focuses on age differences.

Then, just now, I read this:

No mention of things like sibling incest but a pre-occupation with authority figure-to-charge relationships.

To be filed under: Hm-m-m-m...

I wonder if cali or a family member/friend isn't in deep kimche for diddling a student.

I would like to be charitable and attribute this to her reading some legitimate thought-provoking material on the subject, but with DUmmies (Or anyone else for that matter), when this sort of issue comes up it is impossible to avoid speculating about whether this is a left-handed approach to saying something about the speaker's own checkered past or even some current peccadillo.

That's the denialist reason I gave myself this morning when I saw the 1st thread noted in my OP. The instinct to snark was there and I wanted to make hay of the matter.

But...

...unless someone has a policy-axe to grind people will allow passing curiosities to--well--pass.

This new thread got my bunny-sense tingling.

More observation may be merited though I suspect she lurks here and may now be warned off.

... it is impossible to avoid speculating about whether this is a left-handed approach to saying something about the speaker's own checkered past or even some current peccadillo.

Isn't she like...old?

*shudders*

Isn't she like...old?

One might get that impression, from the tiny handful of pictures she has posted over the years.

Might have with the latest "hot for teacher" case down in Texas, IIRC.

She's 27, they're all (yes, ALL--five of them) 18 years old.  Problem is, in Texas, teacher-student sex is a no-no, regardless of age.

She's looking at 10 years in the slam, plus she's butt-ass ugly too, and her husband is currently deployed (Army.)

...and that bitch was a woof woof DOG. Whatever happened to all the hotties that were getting caught a few years back?

Yeah... This pair of threads strikes me as 'peculiar' - to quote franksolich - 'what's up with that ?'

My "take" is that the bitter old Vermontese cali primitive, who's a little past 60 years of age, has a son who's been in trouble before (dope), and now maybe he's in another sort of trouble.

I dunno; that's just speculation, and so I'm not going to allege that.

But it does make the nostrils twitch, the eyebrows arch.

Police: Kennedale football player discloses sexual encounter with freshman girls basketball coach
By TOM BENNING

A Kennedale High School teacher turned herself in to authorities Monday after Arlington police said she had sex with five male students at her home. Brittni Nicole Colleps, 27, of Arlington was charged with five felony counts of inappropriate relationship between a student and a teacher. She was being held in the Arlington jail late Monday in lieu of $125,000 bail. Colleps, a married mother of three, could not be reached Monday for comment. Authorities said her husband is on military duty and based in another state.

30. so it should be illegal for anyone who has more power to have sex with anyone who has less within
same power structure. A chef should be prosecuted for having sex with a dishwasher, for example. ]

**** that with a two tined fork.

BTW - the wikipedia link she keeps hocking:

Quote
In the book, Levine lambastes US laws concerning child pornography, statutory rape, and abortion for minors using a variety of studies and interviews with teenagers and adults alike (see Acknowledgments). Levine also analyzes abstinence-only sex education, which Levine considers counter-productive and dangerous.

The book also examines the terms "harmful to minors" and "indecency," which Levine considers to be umbrella terms for censorship, as well as the Dylan v. Heather case, and the little-known SPARK-Support Program for Abusive Reactive Kids and STEP-Sexual Treatment Education Program and Services, both of which she claims do far more harm than the child sex offenders did themselves.

I guess her son ran off and joined NAMBLA or something and now she has to earn her Non-Judgmental Mom liberal merit badge or something.

I wonder where cali stands on cases of pedophilia? We know some DUmmies are supporters of it.

If that's the case, BJ Clinton should have been arrested for getting a Lewinsky.

Oh wait. Billy Boy was a democrat. I forgot. Different rules.

Fake Myki survey downloads child porn
 http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/breaking-news/fake-m...

AUTHORITIES have detected a fake survey circulating on social networking sites which, when accessed, downloads child pornography to the user's computer.

The false survey includes questions about Victoria's transport ticketing system Myki and mimics the organisation's brand, but is not connected to it, Victoria Police say.

I think xchrom found his alibi.

A search of the IP, and when it accessed certain sites, should be enough to discount that, shouldn't it?
