Personally, I'm ag'in it for the same reasons I oppose Obama doing it: it gives executives ex post facto veto authority over duly enacted laws and no good thing can come of the practice.
But hey, Obama showed us the way and since he is so much smarter than us and opposing him on the merits would be racist...

(Wisconsin Gov.) Walker wants to drop defense of state gay couple law
Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
Gov. Scott Walker believes a new law that gives gay couples hospital visitation rights violates the state constitution and has asked a judge to allow the state to stop defending it.
Democrats who controlled the Legislature in 2009 changed the law so that same-sex couples could sign up for domestic partnership registries with county clerks to secure some - but not all - of the rights afforded married couples.
Wisconsin Family Action sued last year in Dane County circuit court, arguing that the registries violated a 2006 amendment to the state constitution that bans gay marriage and any arrangement that is substantially similar.
... "Governor Walker, in deference to the legal opinion of the attorney general that the domestic partner registry ... is unconstitutional, does not believe the public interest requires a continued defense of this law," says the brief, filed by Walker's chief counsel, Brian Hagedorn.

1. He's a real gem, alright. How soon until a recall?
Plenty of other GOP guvs about as bad, but you can count on Walker to pull something like this to stay at the "top."
Why would you recall him for doing exactly what your flunky did?

2. What a no good mean little prick of a man
Loved ones should be able to see someone when they are sick or dying.
I wonder if Scott knows that the elections are rigged and he can do any damn thing he wants to do?

3. No what he does know is that his time is short, so
he is going to do as much damage as possible before he gets recalled. Its the same thing the GOP in the house is trying to do right now.

4. i hope you are right
I kind of think that republicans nationally know that the population demographics are going to
be brutal to them so they are trying to loot every last nickel they can now.
Yeah, well, I don't think the queers are going to out-breed us any time soon.
You've convinced the black community to abort more than half their children in some areas.
And Hispanics tend to be rather conservatively religious.
What's your next hope?

6. It was always about social issues and unions
Walker believes in big government doesn't he? Like they all do...
Not using the government to intimidate private hospitals = love of big government?
Who knew.

15. Walker Obviously Went Judge Shopping
So this Judge will agree with Walker, however, will order the Governor to temporarily enforce the law pending appeal. It will then end up before the State Supreme Court, where Republicans have the majority so it is anybody's guess how this will end up. Since Judges have to stand for election every 10 years a Judge up for election in 2012 will have that in mind as they make their ruling.
Lots of angry.
Lots of vindictiveness.
Kind of light on argument and facts.
Let's just say this particular practice swings both ways.

It sound like he is seeking judicial review of his decision, unlike Obama who just violated the past practice of defending a laws . BTW, isn't defending US laws one of the oaths of office for the president?

Nice catch!!
Obama went completely outside of the Constitution and precedent. I fear for our country. We are no longer a nation of laws at the federal level.

I read where the recount that sore loser Klopperman wanted has cost close to $250k so far.
