I'm not even sure what he's talking about. What contracts are consumers signing? The corporations trick them into signing some contract that states they want thigns they don't?

So who the Hell is Aunt Cookie, besides some wack-job moonbat man-hater on a heretofore-unknown Leftist forum?

I think It is referring back to the bursting of the housing bubble when people were defaulting on laons they never should have been allowed to enter in to in the first place. Granted, the business practices were too lax but adults are supposed to be adults, after all. Lefties fabricated the "we wuz tricksied" meme to 1) blame their hated nemesis, the private corporation 2) use that as an excuse to assume greater control over our private affairs so as to protect us from ourselves and 3) bail out of their own debts without feeling guilty.
I think it's interesting because libs will tell you distributing condoms or legalizing pot, i.e. making a product more readily accessible to the consumer, won't encourage teen sex or drug use.
Apparently presumed morality and consumer sided economics has its limits.

Corporations and consumers both bear responsibility for the housing crisis, and an as such, both should face the consequences. If a person is unable to afford their house, barring some dramatic change in fortunes (ie job loss, death of spouse, etc.) then I have minimal sympathy for them. I have no sympathy for the banks who gave loans to people without making sure that they could pay them back. Irresponsibility on both sides.

Alas, banks do not lose their own money but rather the money of their depositors (read: you and me).
Still, at least your position is the highly-understandable "no sympathy" position. Consider the lefties that want to destroy the "banksters" in the name fo social justice for you and me but what they would accomplish in practical terms would be to destroy the depositors (read: you and me).
