Original message
Our government needs to throw all available resources at the Texas wildfires.
It's not Texans (read VOTERS) that are burning, it's Texas. It's the land. Our land.
I know lots of DUers hate Texas and all... but they hate TEXANS first and foremost.
This is about the land.
9,000 separate fires since December, and the US Government has helped fight or provided monies to fight 27. 27.
This is what I hate about having two political parties.
I'd ask this question: How does allowing these fires to burn because of political considerations affect "global climate change"?
Shameful.
Is this the war on fire? Like the war on poverty? How much you need? :whatever: :whatever:

Aren't those resources busy fighting fires in Mexico?

37. You are correct. My OP was about the land...
It was my way of getting my message out.
In the end, it's my firm belief that Texas isn't getting the help from the US Government it deserves because of political considerations. I have no evidence to back that up, but that's my belief nevertheless.
Time and again I read posts here at DU that infer that if "they" need help, SCREW them because "they" don't believe the same things WE do.
I ****ing hate that.
So Obama is punishing the good people of Texas? I thought he farted rainbows and could cure syphilis with a wave of his hand?
-
If Uncle Sugar hadn't confiscated so many tax dollars from Texans and Texas businesses, Austin could've collected those taxes and we wouldn't have to be begging Washington for the help. For every dollar in taxes that goes from Texas to Washington, only $.94 comes back. If we had that 6% back, we could fight our own damn fires.

I'm fairly sure that most Texans agree with CP on this one.

And Texas picked up how many Electoral Votes? :???: Three or four, IIRC.
-
And last week Obama was in Texas to talk about amnesty for illegals, but I didn't hear him say anything about the wild fires.
-
It's absolutely disgraceful, and it's why I hate Obama so much. Different rules and favors apply to those he likes, such as blue cities and unions. Everyone else can just go to hell.
You can see it in Eric Holder's shoddy operation, and union exemption from Obamacare. Example after example ever since he took the oaf of office, such as GM bondholders, and certain GM dealerships. There is currently no equal protection under the law, and I really do not understand why we don't see more torches and pitchforks, and supreme court challenges.

Once again proving that everything that leftists say a republican would do (but does not) is exactly what leftists do when in power. Where is the fourth estate?
In the pockets of the collectivists.

Where is the fourth estate?
There was an estate sale, and George Soros outbid everyone else.

Nope. He didn't even make time to talk to Perry about them. Of course, I believe Perry didn't make time to talk to Obama a few other times he was here, so fair's fair I s'pose.

Soros has ties to over 30 media organizations. (http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/05/11/dont-hear-george-soros-ties-30-major-news-organizations/)

Considering that his administration turned down Perry's request for a declaration of emergency last week, he probably didn't want to have to explain himself.

2 Texans should grab 1 illegal by the ankles and use him/her to beat out some of the flames. Get some use out of 'em before bambi turns them all into lazy welfare sponges.

Barry turned down a request from Virginia's governor for FEMA help last week, too.
F'n racist!

I don't remember ever having heard of a president rejecting a governor's request for an emergency declaration. Maybe it's happened, but it sure is rare, and we've had two in the last month.
