Kohl announces retirement, says someone else's time to hold seat
MILWAUKEE -- U.S. Sen. Herb Kohl said he would not seek re-election next fall, believing it’s better to “leave a job a little too early than a little too late.â€
Kohl, 76, said it is time to give someone else the opportunity to serve in the seat he has held since winning election in 1988.
“I have never believed this was my Senate seat,†Kohl said during a news conference at his Senate office in Milwaukee. “I always knew and understood that it belonged to the people of Wisconsin.â€
Kohl expressed confidence he would have won re-election next year if he had sought the office, and that Democrats will be able to hold the seat in his absence.

Count another one out, Dems.

The DUmmies are already running a Draft Feingold petition (http://upload.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x1097087) . :mental:

Ryan vs. Feingold, who wins?

Even though the local news said this was a surprise, really, everyone was expecting it. Some say, Feingold will run for the seat. Hopefully we can find a conservative to stop him.
I am sure Feingold is running polls, I wonder what his numbers are 7 months after his loss.

I can't help but think this is another rat jumping the ship.

Does Feingold even want to run again?
