He didn't just get a bump with the killing of OBL, as expected. Something has shifted. I think people have realized that they can trust him.
Unlike my fellow progressives, I never expected Obama to turn water into wine. Things were bad and would probably get worse and I knew it would be a long and arduous journey to dig our way out of the mess.
When you are in a sailboat and hit threatening weather...you don't expect the Captain to stop the winds and waves (unless you're a progressive!!) you want a Captain who will get you home safely.
I think people are starting to realize that times are crazy, we don't even know what to expect anymore. But we can trust Obama and want him at the helm.

11. Here, here, RichGirl!
Now to the truth:
http://www.nationalreview.com/campaign-spot/266932/latest-ap-poll-sample-skews-democrats-17-points
<snipped>
But then you get to the party ID: 46 percent identify as Democrat or leaning Democrat, 29 percent identify as Republican or leaning Republican, 4 percent identify as purely independent leaning towards neither party, and 20 percent answered, “I don’t know.â€
For contrast, the AP’s immediate preceding poll was 45 percent Democrat, 33 percent Republican; the likely-voter pool in October 2010 was 43 percent Democrat, 48 percent Republican. The poll’s total sample in October 2010 split 43 percent Democrat, 40 percent Republican.
With a poll sample that has a 17-percentage-point margin in favor of the Democrats, is anyone surprised that these results look like a David Axelrod dream?
(Interestingly, George W. Bush is at 50 percent approval, 49 percent disapproval, even in this sample wildly weighted in favor of the Democrats.)
Almost 10,000 comments at the yahoo article, here's a few:

Just report on jobs, please! I'm starving out here!!
I'd laugh but I have to buy gas today.
These guys pump our more propaganda than HC in Venezuela.
The general poll in November, 2012, is the only one that counts.
I wish only taxpayers could vote!
-
If only taxpayers could vote, read income not payroll, Democrats would never get elected.
-
Over sample of donks by 17 points.
The Dem/Rep/Ind breakdown in this poll is 46/29/4, as AP assigned most of the leaners to the parties
When taking out the leaners, the split becomes — I’m not kidding — 35/18/27. Oh, and another 20% “don’t know.†That’s significantly worse than the March poll, in which the proper D/R/I was 29/20/34, and far beyond their post-midterm sample of 31/28/26. It’s pretty easy to get Obama to 60% when Republicans are undersampled by almost half.
Lenin is smiling about the Big Lie.

I always thought that if you relied on Government for food and rental assistance you shouldn't be able to vote, obviously you're going to vote in your interest and as usual the burden of your interest gets shifted to the taxpayer.

The media should be ashamed that they're in collusion with the Democrats.

I tell you what, you cannot just read a poll headline anymore. I know talking heads love to do that, because it's a quick and simple soundbite. You have to look at the sample makeup, the questions asked, everything. If a poll doesn't provide that detail, I assume it came straight out of someone's ass.
The Ras tracking poll showed a small bump from the Osama kill, but now it's back to where it's been entrenched.

13. He's like Captain Sully... He knows its a bad situation... so he lands
the plane on the hudson... trying to glide onto the water... The plane crashed, but not hard and in millions of pieces with a large loss of life.. Nope glided the plane onto the water... but the passengers still had to get out onto the wings in cold, freezing water of the Hudson and await rescue... But they did survive. He's setting things up... I think a real progressive may have the chance after this... or perhaps a congress that's more progressive so that he can sign some really good legislation...
:mental: :lmao:
Captain Sully. Right. What a drip.
Eta: Whoops!

i dont like rain as much as the next guy, but the point of this parade is to distract from the rain.
amazing what a little bias can do do data points.

It must really suck to know there is nothing your pathetic little Republican Party can do to win in 2012. They're all dead on arrival and it's eating you alive!

Wonder what kind of hangover this goon woke up with after election day last year?

perl hacker got the pizza. They can stick their heads in the sand all they want.
The Yahoo comments are approaching 12,000, and I haven't found a single solitary Obama-lovin remark.

A word that needs to be added to the dictionary:
DUhnial
1. a refusal to agree or comply with a statement; contradiction
2. (Philosophy) the rejection of the truth of a proposition, doctrine, etc. a denial of God's existence
3. a negative reply; rejection of a request
4. a refusal to acknowledge; renunciation; disavowal a denial of one's leader
5. (Psychology) a psychological process by which painful truths are not admitted into an individual's consciousness See also defence mechanism
...yeah it has the same definition as "denial" but it fits.
-
Well, I guess that's it...no use to have an election...only polls and exit polls count, you know.
-
So Obama does something that prior to Jan 2009 would have been described by these people as a war crime, people can now trust him?
Hell you can't even trust him on the details of the whole operation.I realize that doesn't fall solely at his feet since lots of conflicting information comes out after a major event such as this, but still I fail to see how this boosted his credibility, health insurance rates haven't come down by 300% and hardly anyone I know got their first paycheck this year and found more money in it. The man is liar.
-
I wonder how many people still have (or will admit to having owned) their commemorative Obama plate.

That's odd. Your lord and savior can't turn water into wine? There is reports of one that can. And your lord and savior can't stop the winds and waves? There's reports of one who can by saying, "Peace, be still."
Maybe you guys have the wrong lord and savior.

I wonder how depressed they'll be when the numbers go back down again in 3 weeks?
The recent push for amnesty for future democrat voters shows the only reason Barry ****ed with OBL. He's desperate because he sees what's coming in '12.

I agree 1000 percent. The way I see it is people like myself that actually fund the gubmint are the stockholders... the owners if you will. We got skin in the game. In the private sector, only shareholders of a company can vote. It should be that way in gubbmint. Originally, if I am not mistaken, only landowners could vote.

Ed Schultz was practically jerking off over himself on his show last night when he flashed that number up.
Of course, no mention of the 15-point OVERsample of Democrats.

In Ed's world (and DU :mental: ) that is an accurate representative sample of the electorate.
