The Waltons just gave 900 MILLION dollars to a museum. I suppose when you
don't pay your employees a living wage you end up having nearly a billion dollars to give away to a museum.
I think it is really awesome that hungry children will be able to go to a museum.
Is it me or do I smell a big tax write off?

Think of all the government money wasted on the "Arts" how many homeless could be sheltered with that money?
-
The evil rich bastards, that's almost a billion dollars that could have been added to the national debt...... :whatever:
-
Do I smell jealousy on the Island? Yep!
-
Well bloody dang, no wonder my hours got cut!!!! :bawl: No vacation for me this year..... :(
-
Dumping cash so barry can't steal it.
-
Oh please, primitives - if the headline was George Soros gave 900 million to a museum, you would all be cheering.
-
Of course the preferred method is for the Waltons to give it to the government, who can then in turn "invest" in "art" that reflects the appropriate diversity, such as a bullwhip up the ass, a fisting, a crucifix in piss, dung on the Virgin Mary, and other delights.

They can afford it. They have that big mountain.
-
What if it was a museum dedicated to LGBTWTFBBQ and womyn's studies?

A big portion of government-supported art is already dedicated to that.

Those were exactly the Waltons I first thought of.

The coal in that mountain was worth ruining the environment for. :fuelfire:

I expect this level of outrage the next time Bill Gates donates a billion dollars to someone.
How about it DUmmies? Got it in you, or are you the hypocrites we know you are?

The DUmmies aren't too thrilled with Bill Gates. He is a big backer of school reforms that the DUmmies don't like.

Yup. I hope he sponsors some Charters. The Teachers Unions HATE them, so they must be good.

Wonderful if the Government does it, terrible if a philanthropist does it. Frickin' Democrat logic at work...heavily influenced by an irrational hatred of all things Wal-Mart.

And this dummie knows this how???
Unfortunately, many of my co-workers spend their money foolishly, IMO. They comment on how they have no money, because a month before they bought a WII, or a Playstation, 50 inch TV, so it is hard to drudge up sympathy. Money is tight, I can do it, but I sacrafice a bit. It's called saving. A good budget and a savings account are your friends.....

Are your co-workers guys? There's a reason that, after marriage, we give the checkbooks to you womenfolk. :-)
Think about it.
Woman telling a man, "honey? We have some money to spend or save, but we really need something."
Guys thought? "Cool! I've wanted some new TaylorMades for a while now!"
Woman's thought, "No, actually, I was thinking about a new washer. You know, one that actually works and we can use every day?"

If she was like my ex, it went for clothes, shoes, tanning sessions, perms, and makeup. Her check wasn't enough, she used a portion of mine as well.
It was the main reason her second husband left her. :rotf:
-
900 million? Pffft. The Jug-Eared Kenyan is going to spend that much on his re-election campaign......and there won't be word said about it by the DUmp.

Every dollar a billionaire donates to a museum is another dollar available for food stamps and free health care.
