Title: Firefox 4
Post by: Eupher on May 06, 2011, 06:17:18 PM
I'm no expert, but I really like the layout (it's much cleaner than previous versions of FF) and it appears to be much, much faster.

I downloaded it today. Still working with it.

It looks a lot like Google Chrome, but FF 4 runs/loads too slow for me now.  :(

So far, so good.

Yahoo's email wants you to download it to make their product work better. The jury's still out on that one.

If FF4 is running slow, I'd check for any add-ons. Those can and have messed up my Firefox.

Well, I use yahoo for my email, so I guess I got sucked up in that.  :rotf: But it seems to be working well, save possibly for Wordpress, which is what my stepson used to put together my web site. I'm having problems with that, but to be fair, I'm also having problems with Wordpress in Explorer, so I dunno.....

The downside is that my favourite skin (Factory Black) is incompatible with it.

I'll have to re-check that stuff.  There are only two add-on's on my FF at the moment.

I used to have ForecastFox add on. It kept slowing down my browser. I dumped it.

I definitely have Ad Block, but cannot remember the other one off the top of my head.

I'm still using 3.6.

I don't think I'll go to 4. I'm not fond of how it looks or a lot of the changes.

Firefox 4 screwed up a lot of stuff for me.  I see more ads (with Ad Block) and some websites don't work like they used to.  For example, one internet radio show won't play for me anymore in Firefox.

Thats how I am too. I have too many add ons, plug ins, extensions and such that I'd like to keep. I'll wait till everybody else works the bugs out for me. Maybe next year I'll give 4 a try. :)

Well, it's been several weeks now and I have never had a problem with FF 4. Of course, I have NO add-ons. It runs fine all by itself.
