"... Jake Tapper broke on 'GMA' this morning that President Obama is also doubtful"

http://blogs.abcnews.com/george/2011/05/house-intellige...

The tide seems to be turning against releasing a photo of Osama bin Laden’s corpse. The head of the House’s Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence told me he’s hesitant to make those images public, echoing the news Jake Tapper broke on “GMA” this morning that President Obama is also doubtful.

“I have to tell you I think I’m more where the president is on this. I’m a little bit reluctant, I’ll tell you why. The conspiracy theorists are going to see the pictures, find ten reasons why they think it’s someone else,” Rep. Mike Rogers said.

“I think it’s pretty common knowledge. The wives are talking, ‘Yes it was Osama bin Laden. Yes he’s dead.’ I don’t know what we gain by showing this,” he said.

Rogers - who has seen the images - had a simple way to decide whether to release a photo, answer this question: Could it endanger our troops?

3. They shouldn't be released.

It will inflame half the world.

And he's right. No matter what proof, Obama detractors will carry on. Didn't we just see that with the birth certificate fiasco?

22. Oh that's mature.

You want more war, hunh?

Some of us have loved ones overseas right now and I'll be damned if I'd accept running the risk of fanatics going off just so's you can have your "**** them I want them to be inflamed attitude."

Go ahead and sacrifice Americans so you can enjoy thumping your nose in their faces. Great idea.

4. No good reason to release the Pictures. Al Qaeda supporters aren't questioning it.

8. I heard on the radio this morning that Hillary and Gates are opposed to the release of the pics.

They think that the Arab world's reaction has been pretty muted so far and they fear that releasing the pics will inflame them.

I seem to recall every damn DUmmie clamoring for the release of all of the Abu Ghraib pictures regardless of the fallout.  In fact, they most likely wanted the fallout from that.  Now that their boy is in office, they want to keep these pictures under wraps.

I think he's captured and is being held and tortured somewhere. By saying he's dead they avoid all the You can't do that's and the bigger, We'll release these 12000 hostages when you free Ussie complications.

That could be why they are saying that there were a bunch of electronic storage devices found.  Any information gleaned from torturing UBL can be said to come from those devices.

No shortage of conspiracies whirling around on this one already.
If it is true as claimed, that he was killed by the seals the other day then those pictures will be released, not until we have a new president in '13 but they will be released.

Some administration official sold a few shots (yeah, bad pun, I know) of another target killed in the raid to Reuters.  Drudge has a link to a photo.  It's pretty bloody--one of the couriers, perhaps.

Roles reversed the savages would be parading through the streets with the corpse, before displaying it on some public building or structure(s). They only piss and moan about it because by doing so they can get the west to once again demonstrate their "weakness".

There was a day when we'd have done the same thing, and just me - I think we should have a return to those days.

You know, sir, I'm rather incredulous, speechless, at this whole thing.

Once bin Laden was killed, I thought there was no way this could possibly be screwed up; that it was a clear-cut and perfect "win" for the Big Zero (I didn't care who the winner was, I just wanted us to win), the crown-jewel of his term in office.

This was just sooooooo perfect.  It couldn't get messed up, no way.

I really believed that.

But now we're mired down in this fine mess of pottage, what with all the contradictory information and the unanticipated reactions.

Damn.

I guess I shouldn't have been so confident about the Big Zero "growing" in office.

You could get one of these, Frank-

You know, really, sir, when it happened, I thought it was cut-and-dried.

A public-relations coup for the Big Zero; no way could this be messed up.

The only president who could've possibly messed it up was James Carter.

No way could the Big Zero mess it up.

Well, I was wrong.

Alright, he's dead, huzzah, joyous day, why are people so anxious to see confirmation? Even if the government is bullshitting us, ask yourself: what have we gained with Bin Laden's death aside from some extra patriotism?

I say give the dead a little respect, even if it's a national enemy. All of the deceased deserve just a tad, we're civilized people, not savages.

Dithering seems to be the art and skill of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Sometimes I cannot tell the difference between Obama and a RINO.

I never thought the muslim could screw this up. A huge, almost unassailable coup for America and, politically, for him. And since Rahm went back to Chicago and the muslim went into campaign mode, he's been acting smarter. He's made a couple of deals with the Repukes that needed to be done, he got rid of the peanut gallery of background nodding pinheads at every single speech, a couple of times he even choked out saying "God bless America", and you know how difficult that must be for him. But chucking bin Laden's carcass into the ocean, and now putting an embargo on the death photos, have put the kibosh on the whole thing. I don't think anyone who matters cares about the detail of what went on when the SEALS stormed the bastard's house. But lots of people want to see hard evidence of the kill.

The jug-eared Kenyan and his democrat sycophants spent the last ten years working to convince the world that the American govenment is a pack of liars, unworthy of any confidence whatever. Now he and his commie buddies are the American government, and the impression they built is working against them. How stupid can he be? Why would he shift into Jimmuh mode?

I still think the best move would have been to send him to a good taxidermist, and open a new display at the Smithsonian.

Interesting, especially now when it's coming out that the video cameras were shut off for 25 minutes and the actually killing of OBL was not on video.

If each, one or some of the participants in the GOP Political Debate tomorrow in South Carolina promise to release the pictures if elected in 2012, Obama would be humiliated if he then released the pictures or continually challenged during future campaigning if he never releases them.
