Is anyone else like me? 9/11 was not an earth shattering event in my life

nor is the killing of Osama Ben Laden. I just can't seem to get that emotional or excited about either event.

I can agree that UBL's death isn't important in the long run but to deny the consequences of 9-11 is just  :mental: .

Rehashing 9/11 brings out extra kookiness in the DUmmies.

But he has enough empathy and sympathy to tell us when we common folk vote against our own best interests.

November 22, 1963 was just another day. The day MLK died was just another day. The day Bobby Kennedy died was just another day. The day Ted Kennedy died was ....a great day.

The primitives can go **** themselves with a rusty saw, I just got through reading that bilge.  I lost friends that day.  Hell, if not for pure luck I would have been one of the vicitms.

Maybe they didn't have wives and husbands and children in their neighborhood that didn't come home from work on September 11, 2001 and never would again.  Maybe they didn't take turns sitting with the mourning spouses.  Maybe they didn't deal with neighborhood kids that were wondering where Daddy was and didn't understand he wasn't coming home.  My neighbors, my wife, and I on Fort Belvoir, VA damn sure did.

1. 9/11 was payback
The U.S. has killed far more civilians in other countries, but somehow that escapes our national consciousness. Perhaps that's why 9/11 didn't surprise me. Chickens coming home to roost. I am glad bin Laden is dead, however.

In threads as thoroughly shot through with lunacy as this one, you have to wonder how many posters are legit DUmmies, and how many are moles helping to "guide" the discussion.

I am eagerly waiting proof via kerosene, cinderblocks and chickenwire that there is no way that Osama could have been killed, as he was clearly already dead.

63. I distinctly recall every Repug I knew "shitting their pants" scared that day.

I was sad for the innocents who perished...just as I was a week ago for the tornado victims...but there was no fear. Maybe I saw too much tragedy in my life to react the way those who lived a comfortable life, like they lived, reacted.

The only people scared where those waiting to be rescued, and those waiting to hear about their loved ones.   Everyone else in the country was furiously angry.   That happens when you actually care about your country misfit.
