Wis. Supreme Court recount at a glance

Associated Press - April 29, 2011 9:05 PM ET

Justice David Prosser held a 7,316-vote lead over challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg before a statewide recount began on Wednesday. The state Government Accountability Board is providing daily updates on the recount's progress by precinct. Here's a look at where the recount stood as of Friday evening:

Precincts recounted and given a preliminary review by board staff: 525 of 3,602

Prosser's current total: 95,398

Kloppenburg's current total: 81,663

Board spokesman Reid Magney said the board hadn't heard of any major anomalies around the state on Friday, although the board continues to field questions from local clerks about procedures.

7. I just don't get how *more* people would come out to vote Republican.

That's the thing which I find funny.

New gov't takes radical moves to eliminate public sector unions and more.

Interim election takes place which usually brings out few voters, Democrats look upon it as an indicator of awakened voter base.

Record number of voters turn out... and they vote Republican?

It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Nothing sensible makes sense to DUmmies.

You can make book that the reporting precincts are the smaller, more conservative ones. I betchya Milwaukee and Madison are holding their counts close to their vests, awaiting to see how many votes they will need to manufacture or 'discover' before its all done and said.

8. Given the circumstances it would have been logical that Democrats would have been more motivated

to vote in that election and that a big turnout for a spring election should have strongly favored Kloppenburg. Here in La Crosse we had a 40% turnout and Kloppenburg won with 59% of the vote.

Perhaps the racist teabaggers watched the temper tantrums at the capitol, and decided to make sure to go vote on election day, since they were too busy working to go counter protest the wackos, they get their message across by voting instead.

So what was the margin in those 525 precincts in the original tally?
The newspaper article quoted by the DUmmy is worthless. The only number that matters is how the recount compares to the original count.

Exactly. I read it as total votes, not votes gained.

Maybe the DUmmies got confused on which ballot boxes were the "stuffed" ballot boxes and which were the "real" ballot boxes.

Something like that happened here back in the 50's....but it was OK. The "right" guy won anyway...as he was supposed too.

Suck it, DUmmies! We are so sick of your bully/temper tantrum antics. Just go an get a lithium drip and leave us normal folk alone!

If you ever develop some manners, maybe we will let you back at the big people's table, but until then, a DUmmie should be seen but not heard. Watched very carefully, in fact.

Indeed - the last I heard yesterday is both Prosser and Kloppenberg had net gains compared to the original counts in the precincts that have been recounted, and Kloppenberg managed to decrease her loss margin by one vote.

This primitive seems to not understand the numbers he/she is referring to.

It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

This is how the silent majority does things, they couldn't go into the streets to counter-protest all the out of staters brought in because they were working, but they sure as heck made their opinions known in the voting booth. :-)

Silent majority. Nobody on my FB friends list is commenting on this bit of news really, and the Regressives are especially silent. This is just all kinds of awesome. While the hippies whine, we get things DONE!  :yahoo:
