Title: FNG
Post by: Gunny on April 29, 2011, 12:22:49 AM
Greetings everybody.  I am Gunny and I'm the proverbial FNG around here.

I guess you all want to know some intel about me.  Fair enough.  I'm old.  Spent a long time in the Corps.  Love scotch.  Smoke a pack a day.  Have a bunch of children and grandchildren.  Passionate about distance shooting.  Sports fanatic.  Movie freak.  Music lover.  History buff.  Married a Russian 20 years my junior last year.  Gators are the greatest college team of all-time.  Period.  Do not attempt to argue.

Looking forward to meeting you on the forums.

Semper Fi.

Welcome, Gunny.

Pay no attention to Thor -- he's a hotbunk artist airedale who never grew out of it.

Bring it on.

Thank you for the welcome, folks.  Glad to be here.  A lot of these political forums are out of control.  I don't give a rat's ass about ignorant, immature children doing nothing but engaging in personal attacks and spewing political lies and rhetoric.  I'm too old for that shit.  I'm looking for intelligent and productive debate.  Hopefully I'll find it here.  It seems the amount of decent political forums are disappearing faster than food at a buffet with Rosie O'Donnell and Michael Moore present.

Looking forward to debating with you folks.

Believe it or not one of my internet forum friends who was in the Navy during Vietnam talked me into joining a leftwing forum.  So I may be able to contribute some doozers in the Dumpster section.

Welcome, Gunny and pass the salt!

No shortage of jarheads and squids a'board, you'll fit right in. I did four in the Corps awhile back, '86-'90, 6114/HMH-463.

You may begin shooting when your own DU targets appear...

Airedale Marines aren't as obnoxious as Grunt Marines...... We had a reserve squadron of 46s right next door to my first squadron (46s) I was wandering over there to scrounge parts now and again or they'd wander over to scrounge some parts from us.  After all, they were Navy trained.  :-)  Funny thing is, about four years after I left that squadron, I wound up going through a ComNavIdent school on H-46s at MCAS Tustin. I asked my squadron training officer why I needed that school because I already held an H-46 NEC (MOS for you non-Navy folks). Anyways, it was a blast. Party time in LA with partial per diem (I had to stay in the barracks).
