I'm thinking of building an ark. We got 3.5" of rain last night, and more is scheduled for this weekend. The rain barrel filled up last week, and the creek's overflowed in the back of our property. When the weather breaks, there is a pile of 44 tons of rip-rap to have installed.

Wet out here in the Sandhills of Nebraska, on the eastern slope.

It's poured down here in Augusta.

It's been generally shitty for the past couple of weeks, but the heavens opened up this morning. Probably a good couple inches of rain just today.
-
Texas has Global Drying going on. It's a tinder box around here. A backhoe driving down the road the other day through a 'U' joint. A piece flew off into the woods and started a fire.

All the news coverage says it's really scorched and dry down there.

I guess I live in the lucky part of Texas. It's rained for 3 days in a row. Not particularly long or heavy rain, but we do get some pretty good lightning and thunder for about 20 minutes. Enough to keep things cool and damp.
-
Severe drought in Central, SC and SW OK. The whole state nearly is under some varying condition of drought.
-
We live in Las Vegas. Very dry. I get jealous of people who get a lot of thunderstorms. We get maybe one big one during the summer. Or we will get the warnings that a severe storm is coming, but it just blows over us and goes into Arizona.

I just heard a report on how dry it is here;
The Baptist are now performing baptisms by sprinkling
The Methodists are using wet wipes
The Lutherans/Presbytarians are giving our rain checks
and
The Catholics are praying for the wine to turn back into water.

I drove through Oklahoma a few years ago, and I was surrounded by brush fires.
Raining like crazy here right now. We'll probably end up with about 4" from this system, maybe more.
-
It seems to rain every couple of days here, but it is spring. I hear tornados are popular this year.
-
I've heard rumors that there is something in the sky called the sun, but we haven't seen it for a few days.
-
Dry season has started here, so no rain for a few months.
We got 74 1/2 inches (1892mm) of rain since Jan 1st. :-)

I'm in Southeast Kansas, close to Oklahoma. When we moved down here 9 years ago, the area was in a drought...churches had signs up urging people to pray for rain and there was much discussion about water conservation. Evidently, the prayers worked...we've had severe flooding 2 years since then.
This year, we've had several good storms, the last one was yesterday. We're predicted to have rain tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday. Mr Smith has managed to mow the lawn 1 time this spring. Even if it doesn't rain, we can do the egg hunt outside...we'll lose the littler kids. :rotf:

Today's total was almost 4". I haven't kept track of previous storms.
-
Pretty soggy this weekend in Southern MO, but not as bad as forecast so far. Most of today was actually pretty nice.
-
Hot and humid. And hot. Then a tornado watch. Then back to hot and humid. And hot.

It's supposed to be REAL bad down there, Wayne. The airport is closed indefinitely.
Another 0.75" here last night.
-
Saw pictures on the news of St Louis, the airport and surrounding area. Tragic. Amazing that no one was killed. Looked like they were going to get bad weather again today.
We've had bad storms a couple of times a week now, for almost 6 weeks. Supposedly this latest grouping is going to only hit west TN and then sweep north through Kentucky. Nothing for us until Tuesday. In the meantime, we are going to have temps in the upper 80's...until the storms hit, and then it's supposed to go down to the low 60's.
What we've been having that is so unusual, is all the wind. I feel like I've moved back to the midwest...we've never had this continual wind pattern. Even with all the rain we've had, there's a ban on burning because of the winds.
-
St. Louis was prepared. The warnings went out according to the forecasts, and people actually obeyed the warnings.
-
Wet as heck here in the New England, the CT River is as high as I've ever seen, and it continues to rain.
-
It's been fairly wet here lately. It's also been fairly cool, which hasn't really helped out my tomatoes and peppers that I've been trying to start from seeds.
-
Where I live now it is wet. The last town I lived in was dry though, if you wanted beer, wine or spirits you had to drive across the line and make your purchase in the next town.

Saw pics on the tv this morning from Louisville KY and the Cincinatti area. They are having severe flooding with rain predicted for the next 4 days. I felt so sorry for the guys they interviewed in Louisville. They know they are probably going to lose their houses and there is just nothing they can do about it. :(
-
Raining here - again. At least yesterday we had no rain and I could put a turkey on the smoker.
Rain is supposed to total an additional 3" - 4" over the next few days. We've had 1/2" today.

Rick Perry called for Texans to pray for rain this weekend. That is how bad it is. It isn't as bad where I am, in North Central Texas, but I drove through the guts of Texas this weekend, and it is very dry and very brown and crunchy.
