Title: Language 101: University of Iowa Professor is so naughty

This is Ellen Lewin. She’s an Anthropology professor at the University of Iowa, and I’m guessing that she’s a liberal (shocker, I know). Ms. Lewin – like many other folks on campus – received a “university-approved blast e-mail regarding its “Conservative Coming out Week.”

The beginning of the blast email said: “Conservatives in Iowa City it is now time to come out of the closet!”

And then it listed the details of a harmless event called “Conservative Coming Out Week,” which I thought was kind of clever. But then again, I’m not a hippie Anthropology professor who forces my political views on my students and berates them with obscenities when I disagree with them. I just teach stuff. You know.

Needless to say, she didn’t like getting said e-mail. So, in true liberal professorial, classy and open-minded form, “she let the group know it with three some simple words: “Fu** You Republicans!”
