I went to the statehouse today for a grant ceremony (we got 15,000)
the money is for our grange building- historic preservation. It was great fun. It was held in the Cedar Creek Room in Vermont's beautiful statehouse. The statehouse is remarkably open. There are no guards at the doors and no metal detectors. You just walk in. In fact, though I saw lots of reps and senators over the 2 hours or so that I was there, I didn't see a single security person or cop.
The Senate and House chambers are the oldest legislative chambers in their original condition in the nation. It's on the registry of National Historic sites. In the summer some of the front lawn is a vegetable garden with all the produce going to local food pantries.
Governor Shumlin wandered around greeting folks and then spoke to those assembled. He went off on repubs and tea baggers and everyone cheered. He talked about how repukes want to cut all federal funding for historic preservation.

1. Your Governer sounds fantastic...
I wish we could clone him.
If they did maybe you could get 15k to write your wonderful poetry.
No sign yet of Bobo being outraged that the 15K isn't being spent on homeless people.

I was just thinking about Bobo today. Did you know she was homeless? Anyway, I don't think I've seen her prowl the dump in a while now. Did she freeze to death in the Buick? Did she find it hard to pay this months iPhone bill? Inquiring minds... really don't want to know...

Oh too funny. :lmao: The writing sounds like a 3rd grader.
My house is on the national registry. Grant money is impossible to get no matter whether D's or R's are in charge. You have to have A LOT of money yourself to begin with, it's crazy. I won't bore you with the details, and I invested enough of my life in it.

That's funny. I did a search of his remarks and I couldn't find a single reference to "repubs", "teabaggers", or "repukes". I guess she's just a typical lying DUmpsterite. I guess this needs to be changed to a State House Bouncy. :)

This is where the bitter old Vermontese cali primitive should be ashamed, honoring the Grangers who were nothing like the present-day Vermontese primitives.
The Grangers were a sturdy, hearty, hard-working people who voted (R), making Vermont one of the most reliably-(R) states in the union, which was a factor in Vermont's financial stability and wealth.
And then the hippies, among them the bitter old Vermontese cali primitive, discovered Vermont during the 1960s.
And they've turned Vermont into a shithole.
I'm sure the 19th-century Grangers are spinning in their graves, when they think of what their state has become.

She's probably trying to find how to get the iPhone 5.

Yeah, because historic preservation is such a huge priority in times of limited resources and a huge mounting debt that threatens to tumble the entire US. :whatever:

I do believe that you and I pay her iPhone bill.
