I get the feeling that the Chicago crew would have favoured a  'horses head in a bed'  over 'privately urging' .

I'm waiting to see if some federal investigation of S&P crops up soon.

Of course that's so much easier than doing something about the deficit situation.

Just like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, they want to keep things propped up until they need to kick the props out from under it.
