Greenspan: Young people are stupid, Social Security never existed
From Meet the Press Sunday 4-17-11:
"DR. GREENSPAN: ...as I watch what's going on, we have to remember that over the next 10 years or so we're going to find that the baby boom generation, highly skilled, highly educated, is going to fade from the scene.
It's going to be replaced by a generation who are now in school and creating grades which don't make us look very good in the international spectrum. This means that we are probably dealing with an economy which isn't growing fast enough or creating much real resources to fund the entitlement programs that we have already made.
I don't, I don't, I don't consider these--the issue of cutting back spending as essentially something which is new. I don't think we could afford it in the first place. We're really canceling something which didn't exist." (http://on.msnbc.com/e74GnM )
We already know that Greenspan considers SS an entitlement (http://bit.ly/fWGulx ).
Now he thinks it never existed - EVEN THOUGH THAT'S WHERE THE GOVT HAS BEEN BORROWING MONEY FROM TO STAY AFLOAT!
The guy's horns are showing.
Oh yeah, and he thinks young people are stupid...

4. greenspan is an operative; he's the one who began the undermining of social security.

you can't trust a thing he says. during the clinton surpluses he said oh no, we need tax cuts because we might pay off the debt too quickly. now the debt is apparently a huge deal, contra his earlier line.

Well would ya lookie here, just this morning I was shouting about this very bit of truth telling by the Maestro.
As in Michael Graham ? Heh..
I can often be heard on the Confession Hotline.. Well, not "me", I do voices.. Usually the 'Bill Clinton' calls are me. There are others I've done as well.
Nor are there any houses to rent in Tuscany. :lmao: I will have to see if I can get 96.9 ( I usually listen to 96.7).

And he thinks young people are stupid.
Hmmm. This bothers them? If I remember correctly didn't Jokin' John Kerry say something similar about our military? Did that bother DU?

108. I don't even know where to start describing what an ASSHOLE greenspan is.
He doesn't think the coming generation is educated enough?
Well whose ****ing idea was it to fork every last dollar that wasn't nailed down to stinking rich people instead of INVESTING public funds into 1st world public education?
****ing assholes. They pull the god damned rug out from underneath our feet and then reprimand us for falling.
I hope A.G. is still alive when the revolution comes so he can be the first up against the wall...

109. The government hasn't borrowed anything- they stole
the "entitlement" for themselves. So apparently SS is a government entitlement for our government to slush around in.
Sometimes I wonder where these people get their big brass ones and have to ask myself why the populace isn't protesting the very existence of the Greenspanic ideology.

Most sublime comment!
Greenspan was born in the Washington Heights area of New York City. His father Herbert Greenspan was of Romanian-Jewish descent and his mother Rose Goldsmith of Hungarian-Jewish descent.[1]
Greenspan is an accomplished clarinet and saxophone player who played with Stan Getz when they were in school together. He studied clarinet at the Juilliard School from 1943 to 1944, when he dropped out to join a professional jazz band.[2] He played jazz saxophone along with future Richard Nixon acting Special Counsel Leonard Garment in Woody Herman's band. He returned to college in 1945, attending New York University (NYU), where he received a B.S. in economics summa cum laude in 1948[3] and an M.A. in economics in 1950.[4] Greenspan went on to Columbia University, intending to pursue advanced economic studies, but subsequently dropped out. At Columbia, Greenspan studied economics under the tutelage of future Fed chairman Arthur Burns, who constantly warned of the dangers of inflation.[5]
In 1977, NYU awarded him a Ph.D. in economics. His dissertation is not available from NYU[6] since it was removed at Greenspan's request in 1987, when he became Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. However, a single copy has been found, and the 'introduction includes a discussion of soaring housing prices and their effect on consumer spending; it even anticipates a bursting housing bubble'.[7]

This means that we are probably dealing with an economy which isn't growing fast enough or creating much real resources to fund the entitlement programs that we have already made.
