Google offered to block FoxNews results for me this morning! Updated at 9:00 AM
Edited on Mon Apr-18-11 09:55 AM by Zephie
I was doing a search on Google this morning and I noticed something interesting: One of the results was for a Fox News article, and right below it was a link reading "Block all foxnews.com results". I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but that's fantastic. After clicking you get a happy little message that says "We will not show you results from foxnews.com again", after showing the link being blown up.
I wasn't aware of this previously, though I knew you could filter search results. Interestingly none of the other links had this option beneath them.
Edit: Link found by being logged in to google, using general search and not news search.
search: pregnancy advice for dads. The link for fox news was #7. The option to block is right below the excerpt.

:panic: "They're listening to us! We have a voice!" :panic:
Google lets you do that with any domain. Nitwit.

I have had Huffpo blocked from google search results for some time. It's a feature that google offers allowing you to block results from unwanted sources.
-
Well now, what's the point in blocking a "search" result?
I can't think of any time I'd want to do that.
It's like, "I'm going to the library to look up 'boryborygmia,' but I'm on purpose not going to see what the Journal of the American Medical Association has to say about it."
For the life of me, I can't figure out why this is a good thing, putting on blinders that obscure one's view.
But of course, these are primitives.....

You have to consciously tell google to block certain sites? It's right there when I googled pregnancy advice for dads, with no offer to block. :???: I'm not getting why the DUmmie is so jubilant....it wasn't a Google Corporation corporate decision to corporately block teabagger sites?

I know that. You know that. But they don't. They think that links to Fox News have been blocked for everyone in the entire world.
BTW, I noticed that I am unable to block website like that, too. I wonder if it's only offered in Google Chrome (I use Firefox).

I thought the whole reason algore invented the internet was to allow all kinds of information to be available to all the masses. If the DUmmies want to stick their heads in the sand an only get information from sources that mirror their limited ways of thinking, good on them. So much for them being open minded to other ideas......

I use the Chrome extension to block lefty blogs when I'm searching for news.

God forbid that you should be subjected to the truth, just block whatever goes against your agenda.

Me too.
Where was I thinking wrong?

Uh-huh.
