If you've already seen this, feel free to continue below the video. If you haven't, do yourself a favor and just watch it with the sound off. I quarantee you won't miss very much.

I haven't mentioned this before (largely because I'm not sure anything will come of it), but I'm meeting with the senior staff of a conservative think tank in Chicago on Tuesday afternoon. Their focus is on discovering, developing, and promoting free-market solutions to public policy problems, primarily at the state government level, but increasingly at the national level, as well. The position at this point seems to be a curious, albeit interesting amalgam of editorial writer, capital development director and all-around hyper-conservative ideologue. Not sure of my suitability for this as-yet-to-be-properly-defined position, but it's a free trip to Chicago, and I am in need of some excitement and the wonderful anxiety that comes from trying something new and unfamiliar.
Consequently, I've spent the better part of this weekend re-reading F.A. Hayek's The Road to Serfdom. If you haven't read it, Reader's Digest (yes, that Reader's Digest) published a Hayek-endorsed, 96-page condensed version of it in 1945, intended largely for our troops coming home after the war. Click here to download it. (http://www.iea.org.uk/sites/default/files/publications/files/upldbook43pdf.pdf) This seminal book, coupled with Evan Sayet's devastating lecture on how the Modern Liberal thinks (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaE98w1KZ-c&feature=feedwll&list=WL) have awakened in me a sense that I'm doing nothing but wasting my ****ing time trying to battle with the sorry sacks of human excrement on display in both the above video, and at places such as Skin's Island. Please, allow me elaborate...
Ever since my stroke, I've gone to great lengths to try and avoid those instances where I might find myself drawn into impotent rage and utter futility. I am quite aware that there isn't a libtard in existence in whom, given the chance to engage face-to-face, I couldn't induce such hopelessness and self-loathing, they'd be left with little choice, other than to either commit suicide or attempt an act of violence that would inevitably result in a lengthy prison term (although Suicide by Police Officer could be pretty fun to watch, too). However, it occurs to me today that I accomplish absolutely nothing by commenting on them on the internet. I know they're worthless, and I know that they are, for all intents and purposes, condemned to die the most ignominious of deaths: that of the deliberately ignorant and parasitic. What does it benefit me, therefore, to rail at them from my MacBook???
Abso-****ing-lutely nada, that's what.
To that end, I'm through with them all; HotAir, AoSHQ, iOwnTheWorld, The DUmpster, and any other site that laudably swims through the shit so I don't have to.
Dr. Hayek once famously advised a protege....
Society’s course will be changed only by a change in ideas. First you must reach the intellectuals, the teachers and writers, with reasoned argument. It will be
their influence on society which will prevail, and the politicians will follow.
Now, I'm not at all certain I agree with Hayek's belief that "the intellectuals, the teachers and writers" can even be reasoned with anymore, but I DO believe that for me, I need to take my talent and strengths to a new arena. The thoroughly repugnant little shits in the video can't be reasoned with, and aren't the slightest bit interested in harvesting anything other than scorn, madness and bloody constraint. Fine. Their time will come, and at the hands of far more capable men than I. Yours truly needs to find himself a new front, facing enemies who don't have the luxury of hiding behind an ISP and a cut-rate, online mental asylum.
What started as an attempt to divest myself of stress in order to survive has become a moral imperative to to invest myself in a mission to truly live.

I listen to none of and read very little of the lib crap, even what's posted here. No sense getting all knotted up over idiots that cannot be reasoned with, so I just ignore all of them. I have more important things to do, like rearranging my sock drawer.

It's all right here, HNC:
1. Abolition of private property and the application of all rents of land to public purposes.
Americans do these with actions such as the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution (1868), and various zoning, school & property taxes. Also the Bureau of Land Management (Zoning laws are the first step to government property ownership)
2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
Americans know this as misapplication of the 16th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, 1913, The Social Security Act of 1936.; Joint House Resolution 192 of 1933; and various State "income" taxes. We call it "paying your fair share".
3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
Americans call it Federal & State estate Tax (1916); or reformed Probate Laws, and limited inheritance via arbitrary inheritance tax statutes.
4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
Americans call it government seizures, tax liens, Public "law" 99-570 (1986); Executive order 11490, sections 1205, 2002 which gives private land to the Department of Urban Development; the imprisonment of "terrorists" and those who speak out or write against the "government" (1997 Crime/Terrorist Bill); or the IRS confiscation of property without due process. Asset forfeiture laws are used by DEA, IRS, ATF etc...).
5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
Americans call it the Federal Reserve which is a privately-owned credit/debt system allowed by the Federal Reserve act of 1913. All local banks are members of the Fed system, and are regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) another privately-owned corporation. The Federal Reserve Banks issue Fiat Paper Money and practice economically destructive fractional reserve banking.
6. Centralization of the means of communications and transportation in the hands of the State.
Americans call it the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated through the ICC act of 1887, the Commissions Act of 1934, The Interstate Commerce Commission established in 1938, The Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Communications Commission, and Executive orders 11490, 10999, as well as State mandated driver's licenses and Department of Transportation regulations.
7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
Americans call it corporate capacity, The Desert Entry Act and The Department of Agriculture… Thus read "controlled or subsidized" rather than "owned"… This is easily seen in these as well as the Department of Commerce and Labor, Department of Interior, the Environmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Mines, National Park Service, and the IRS control of business through corporate regulations.
8. Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
Americans call it Minimum Wage and slave labor like dealing with our Most Favored Nation trade partner; i.e. Communist China. We see it in practice via the Social Security Administration and The Department of Labor. The National debt and inflation caused by the communal bank has caused the need for a two "income" family. Woman in the workplace since the 1920's, the 19th amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, assorted Socialist Unions, affirmative action, the Federal Public Works Program and of course Executive order 11000.
9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries, gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equitable distribution of population over the country.
Americans call it the Planning Reorganization act of 1949 , zoning (Title 17 1910-1990) and Super Corporate Farms, as well as Executive orders 11647, 11731 (ten regions) and Public "law" 89-136. These provide for forced relocations and forced sterilization programs, like in China.
10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production.
Americans are being taxed to support what we call 'public' schools, but are actually "government force-tax-funded schools " Even private schools are government regulated. The purpose is to train the young to work for the communal debt system. We also call it the Department of Education, the NEA and Outcome Based "Education" . These are used so that all children can be indoctrinated and inculcated with the government propaganda, like "majority rules", and "pay your fair share". WHERE are the words "fair share" in the Constitution, Bill of Rights or the Internal Revenue Code (Title 26)?? NO WHERE is "fair share" even suggested !! The philosophical concept of "fair share" comes from the Communist maxim, "From each according to their ability, to each according to their need! This concept is pure socialism. ... America was made the greatest society by its private initiative WORK ETHIC ... Teaching ourselves and others how to "fish" to be self sufficient and produce plenty of EXTRA commodities to if so desired could be shared with others who might be "needy"... Americans have always voluntarily been the MOST generous and charitable society on the planet.
and they're well on their way to implementation....

Amen.
While CC was formed, in part, to marvel at the idiots at Skin's Island and to otherwise point out the lunacy of their ways, and while many CC'ers spend a fair amount of time on that forum called "The DUmp", I ain't one of them.
I appreciate those who find entertainment value in the DUmp, and wish them well, but I have the DUmp on ignore, and ignore it I shall.
Good luck in your search, HNC! And safe travels!
(Gonna pack your crocs?)

I had my own epiphany today.
I came here for the laughs. For a lot of years the DUmmies did just that. I can't tell you how many times I laughed so hard I thought I would die gasping for air. The humor was incredible and the like minds drew me in even more.
Then I moled. I met a few people I thought were nice. I thought, hey, they're not all bad. We may not think alike politically but we're still people with values and morals.
No we're not alike. At all. Those people hate. Hate beyond anything I've ever experienced in my life. It's no longer funny for me. They are sick, twisted, demented. I don't want that touching my life.
I'm sorry to say this but they deserve what their miserable lives have become. The perpetual victim status is disgusting. The begging for money, the woe is me, please. Take inventory of your lives DUmbasses, you'll see why it's so ****ed up. If you're honest that is.
I have family just like the DUmmies. They don't see the light either. The bulb is either burnt or missing. You cannot help those that refuse to help themselves or change. I'm all out of empathy.
I would rather concentrate on the positive. I've had enough of the negative. The DUmmies aren't worth my time anymore.
Mr. Hollywood NeoCon, I've enjoyed reading your posts. I wish you well in whatever you do and I hope your health improves.
Peace and low stress. :rotf:
I just had to get in one more DUmmy quote. It's been fun here. I wish you all good lives.
-
I hope you have a safe trip HNC, good to see you feeling inspired. :cheersmate:
I am with the rest here. I have enough dealings in my day to day with real life DUmmies, I don't like to waste my time thinking about them in my few leisure hours.
-
Thanks all, for the responses, and to Alpha Mare, NO, I'm not leaving CC - just gonna stop messing about with the DUmpster.
Shadeaux's right: these people hate for hate's sake. They hate because they know not what else to do, and even if they did, they're incapable of mustering the motivation and wherewithal to look after themselves. The repulsive idiots on display in the video I posted are textbook examples of this; so full of hate, so blissfully unaware that it is themselves they should be looking to for change, they're incapable of any response to that with which they disagree other than infantile attempts to shout their opponents down.
I'm simply through trying to reason with these people. However, if the day ever comes where I'm legally entitled to address such idiocy by hitting it in the face with a shovel, then you'll know where to find me: just call your local SEIU office and ask where the nearest demonstration is. :-)

I would comment on your newest adventure, but I am too busy rearranging my heretics list. Do you really have to go to the pit of gloom, Chicago, to do this? I have been to very few cities as depressing as that one. You would think they would pick a more conservative city to begin such a project. It is like trying to drain a pool with a cocktail straw. Anywho, good luck and glad you're not leaving!
-
HNC, I add my voices to those who are glad that you're not leaving. I have to say--my wife asks why I wade through the morass that is the DUmpster. She deals with the cretins every day where she is. I don't, necessarily. So I have to remind myself that there's individuals, masquerading as human beings, that exist to leech off the productive members of society all around me. It keeps my "eye on the ball," so to speak.
Keep at it, my friend . . . and an H5 for explaining your reasons to us.
-
HNC--I've spent some time there, any my mole has a few posts over at the DUmp--not many, but a few.
Yet I find myself more and more loathe to spend time in that place, and not just because of the Crying Game shower I feel I need after each and every trip there.
I refuse to spend any of my emotional capital on a person who can see no further than themselves, which is basically all DUmmies are--self-centered, mind-numbed, mouth-breathing pieces of offal. If I can't make fun of them, I ignore them.
Life's too short, to put it mildly. But good on ya for putting it down, and double good on ya for sticking around. See? You DO know class when ya see it.

H5, for the above, and for using the highly underappreciated word offal.

There must be a reason to keep those socks smiling.

Yeah, time for you to hit the road, sweetheart.

Hey HNC. I definitely understand what you are saying, and have to take breaks from it myself. I get a good laugh from some of the outlandish bouncies the DUmbasses provide, but otherwise, they just wear me out with selfish me me me posts. I find that I waste a lot of time reading their BS when I could be doing something more enjoyable. I like to read the DUmpster here, mainly because of the hilarious comments by fellow cavers.
Have a safe trip! Are you going to be in town or the suburbs? Good luck on the project.
