Disgraced politician John Edwards is said to be deeply depressed - to the point of being suicidal - over the prospect of a criminal trial that could end with him being jailed if found guilty.
The 57-year-old former Presidential candidate reportedly told a close friend: 'I won't go to jail. I'd kill myself first!'
He has lost 20lb in the last year and is a 'broken spirit,' reports the National Enquirer.

The article fails to mention that the reason he's "a broken spirit" is because his hair is falling out. :sarcasm:

He can't go to prison, he's a lawyer and they're above the law.

Maybe he needs to find an ambulance chasing lawyer.
Oh, wait. How silly of me. :-) He IS an ambulance chasing lawyer! :naughty: :rotf:

Kill himself? We should be so lucky.

All I feel for this SOB is - nothing.

Maybe instead of "channeling" babies during his trial, he could "channel" himself getting his ass plowed by Bubba.
This was a subject on TAH a couple of weeks ago. He's a gutless turd. I opined then, and I'll say it now--if he got sentenced to prison, if you gave him a .45 and one bullet, he'd walk away and grab the KY on his way out.

He wouldn't use it because the .45 makes too much of a mess. Better to give him a .22. That way, the bullet can rattle around in his skull without leaving a nasty exit wound.
That way he could stay pretty right up to the time they close the casket lid. :whatever:
-
Who's stopping you, Johnny? Zero sympathy.
-
Had Bushco et al not "stolen" the election in 2004, this turd would be the front runner for President in 2012.
Then there is Lieberman who the left had so much love and admiration for in 2000, who is now despised by the left.
Fast forward to the current VP and I would have to say the dems don't have a very good track record in picking VP's that they can stand by as the years go by......

Maybe he should channel Elizabeth or his already humiliated children or the new daughter that would grow-up with all that additional mess hanging over her head.
He should stop thinking about himself for a few minutes.

He should stop thinking about himself for a few minutes.
That is ultimately his bottom-line problem. Massive selfishness.

That's like saying rattlesnakes should lose the whole venom thing, you know.
-
I feel for his children, but zero sympathy for John Edwards. What a sleezebag! :bird:
-
He's too pretty to go to jail.
(Don't laugh, someone in this state used that as a defense.)

I feel sorry for his kids too. Mr. Breck girl is a worthless ass.
-
I dunno why he's so upset about the prospect of prison. I wager that Mr Silky Pony would be the most popular person in the unit.

Well at least he's doing his part to reduce spending.

He is a lawyer--right???
These are the best jobs if one has to go to prison. He will get conjugal visits with family in special trailers set aside for men that need to keep their sex life perkey with either a wife, children, or a boy toy.
He will never be molested as all the creeps around him will beg on bended knee for his help on their case.
Booze, drugs and a bj are his for the taking. No problem with the guards they also may need help for their own personal problems, where do you think the high end Scotch and drugs come from????
I am sure his kids just love what he did to their family and how they must live their lives living it down or making excuses for his actions. Now instead of taking it like a man, he has turned into a weeping ***** that now make his kids even more ashamed of him.
This is a good lesson for any woman who goes after a married man and gets them. They get what they want, a cheater, liar and down right ass hole to their kids, and when the woman has children with him, why expect their father to treat her children any different then he does his other kids.
If it were not for his children I would belly laugh at this Weasel, check out the life style of a weasel on goggle and then throw up.

Vesta is actually right on the lawyer-in-prison thing, whether disbarred or not an experienced attorney can stay on the good side of the inmates by spending his time working their ghost-written "Pro se" appeals in the prison library.

A judge here in SC went to prison way back...he sued the state because the prison food wasn't good enough...and then the one because his prison shoes were to tight...just what we need, more prisoner lawsuits.

Kill himself? We should be so lucky.
Yeah. I'm still looking for a downside to this... :clueless:

A bit out of the loop here, what did he do to serve a possible sentence?

Working from memory here, he had manipulated and misused campaign funds to keep and care for his squeeze, with whom he had a baby girl outside of his marriage. The DOJ is investigating and he's despondent because his lawyers are telling him he can serve some real time.
Poor little baby. :whatever:
-
He's a democrat, he won't get any jail time. The most he will get is a slap on the wrist.

Ah, got it, now I remember. Thanks!
