Planned Parenthood?
Dems will have to own it now:
The next step in the battle to de-fund the Planned Parenthood abortion business came when pro-life House Speaker John Boehner forced pro-abortion Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid to do something he swore he wouldn’t do: allow a vote. The Senate will vote on Thursday.

ObamaCare co-ops?
dead:
Critics have blasted the CO-OP program as a “stealth public option,†the government insurance plan pushed by liberal Democrats during the consideration of Obamacare.
DC school vouchers?
resurrected:
The bill also includes the reauthorization of the DC Opportunity Scholarships, along with a $2.3 million funding increase, to stop the termination of the program and allow new students to participate.
czars?
4 of the l'il bastards axed:
The legislation also eliminates four Administration “Czars,†including the “Health Care Czar,†the “Climate Change Czar,†the “Car Czar,†and the “Urban Affairs Czar.â€

Is the $ as big as we wanted/needed?
absolutely not
But at the end of the day who could have imagined such a major stride with a bill that barely covers 5 months of government spending and the GOP dodged being called extremists.
More importantly it signals just how much the dems gave up out of fear of a government shut down and the threat they might be tarred as the extremists.
Reid and Obama didn't even have a counter-proposal to Ryan's plan until today when Obama announced he would take the Simpson-Bowles deficit commission plan, prop it up on a broom handle and call it his own.

This is the same plan that:
1) was not adopted even by the members of the commission
2) Paul Ryan served on the commission, so either way Obama endorses a GOP plan
3) Obama never stood behind the plan when it was presented, he just shrugged and walked off and let it die
4) his liberal base calls it the cat food commission, so he has already lost them and the indies have no reason to choose his cat food over Ryan's dog food
We are dangerously close to advancing on the enemy's capital. Our 2 greatest threats from here are our hubris and their desperation but we have them on the run.

I think a shut down is likely especially after September 30, the end of the fiscal year of 2011.

Debt ceiling vote will arrive before that but that won't present the possibility of a shut down. On the contrary that has more permanent stakes as it may lead the US to defaulting on its debts.
The urge to attach policy riders will be strong, especially fiscal policy riders. The riders coming from our side need to be closely scrutinized and vetted before they ever see the light of day.

I remember they axed that program early on in this O-ministration. It made me absolutely furious, and I remember those democrat senators, mine being one, being utterly deaf to the pleas (and my letters). How dare they ruin the lives of these kids and sentence them to DC hellholes? I hope and pray that the reauthorization comes to be.
Four czars is a start, a good start. Keep it going, esp. Sunstein.

My doubts have been turned into seething rage:
The deal does eliminate $38 billion in “new spending authority,†but as we learned yesterday in agonizing detail, spending “authority†and actual spending are two very different things. So to sum up: In less than a week, we’ve gone from $61 billion in cuts to $38 billion in cuts to $15 billion in real cuts to $352 million in deficit reduction this year, which is less than one percent of the number agreed to in the budget deal. I can’t help but suspect that tea partiers might feel a tad … antsy about that trend.

$352 million is all we got?
Fire Boehner
I don't give a **** if he thought he was acting in everyone's best interest. I'm sure McClellan did too but he was a useless ****. Ditto Boehner.
Attack general, attack! If you can't you will be relieved and someone who can beat the enemy will be appointed.
How about Ryan?
