Tesco accused over padded bra for 7-year-olds
By Gary Cleland
Last Updated: 1:56pm BST 14/04/2008
Supermarket giant Tesco has been heavily criticised for selling a padded plunge bra aimed at girls as young as seven.
The bra, which costs £4, is sold alongside vests in the supermarket's seven to eight-year-old age range.
It is the latest embarrassment for Tesco, which in 2006 removed a pole dancing kit from sale after being accused of "destroying children's innocence".
Yesterday teachers and children's groups criticised the decision to sell the bra.
A spokesman for the children's charity the NSPCC said: "It is important that products accessible to children are appropriate to their age and understanding."

OP is a news story about a store in the UK in a controversey regarding possible inappropriate clothing for youngsters.
The Fibber then chimes in with his newest plan for his life.

7 years olds is about his mental speed.

7 years olds is about his mental speed.
The only women gullible and innocently trusting enough to fall for his crap. Although he does make the predatorial remarks about the attractive, young 20-and 30-something pics over there, which is enough of a generational gap. You have to wonder what makes him think he has anything to offer them.

And of course the Ad Bot covered the page with online underware sales links...

I used to get offended as all get out about the "padded" bras for younger girls. Now my 9 year old is having to wear bras and I understand that the padding isn't there to pad the bra but as a headlight shield for those who get headlights at that age. It is very suprising at how many girls in elementary school really need a good supportive bra. I suggest that normal people go see what the fuss is all about.

Yanno, I NEVER thought about it like that.
Thanks. :)

I think the problem here is TiT wanting to indulge himself.
And IMHO, the OP says that tey are getting padding to be more sexy, not to hide headlights. It says a "plunge bra" as opposed to a padded training bra.

Am I the only one not surprised by this new revelation?

Girls are developing earlier and earlier, and I know that well-made, concealing bras ("support" is for generously-endowed women and old bags like me) can serve a useful purpose for them, but plunge bras and thong underwear are just premature sexualization like makeup, belly button rings, and heels.
If I 'd known someone like TiT had been ogling my young daughters' budding curves at that age, I would have felt compelled to smash HIS headlights.

1. I spent the entire Summer of my thirteenth year having all manner of sex...
with the neighbor of my Aunt and Uncle.
I knew exactly what I was doing, and so did she. And she was thirty years old.
To this day, I just cannot accept the idea that a crime was committed.

Apparently, he doesn't have any moral qualms with having sex with a thirteen year old (or sexualizing a seven year old). I truly hope he is nothing more than some bizarre internet persona. People who honestly think the way he portrays himself should not be allowed to walk the streets.

Their is a difference between a plunge bra and a sports bra in shape. However thong undies for little girls is just nasty and wrong. I know my daughter doesn't wear the padded bra to look sexy. The regular ones just don't do the job at some point for girls. The padding is probably 1/8" thick. It isn't like they are wearing bras stuffed with 2" of silicone.
Tesco, however, defended the bra. A spokesman said: "It is a product designed for girls at that self-conscious age when they are just developing.
"It is designed to cover up, not flatter, and was developed after speaking to parents.
"It is described as a padded bra for trade description reasons."
The picture they have there the bra is scrunched down to make it look like a wonderbra or something. In reality they just look like a regular but smaller bra. Here is a link to the walmart products of the same type. I have seen all of these in person and they are as flat as flat can be in reality.

Umm, do you even know what a plunge bra is free? It's not indecent and my 10 year old has about 3 of these as starter bras. They do NOT, I repeat they do NOT look sexually inviting in anyway on a 10 year old, they merely do the job of making budding breasts more discreet since you can see them as they start to develop, headlights and all, at that age and my daughter found that embarrassing.
Here is a plunge bra for girls at Target, second one down...nothing sexual about it, trust me. My daughter's is similar but with little tiaras on it and rainbows on the other one.
http://www.target.com/gp/search/601-0978870-9196142?field-keywords=girls+bras&url=index%3Dtarget&ref=sr_bx_1_1&x=0&y=0
I really think this is being overblown(not the tomintib disgusting comment) but what we are talking about here. I'm sure plunge bras can be made to look sexy for women with lace and such and perhaps the ones being discussed have those elements of lace and bows and stuff that would be on a womans, but many plunge bras are merely cotton and pattern fabric. They make it so girls with budding breasts can wear tank tops and such without seeing a bra is on.
-
Not surprising, considering the prior DU threads on pedophilia.

I'm with you on this mama as a mother of a similarly aged girl. They in no way push up a little girl bcause they are not designed that way, nor do little girls have enough boob yet to push up. What little girls have normally are these embarrassing nipple bud things and this bra helps to conceal it so they look more even instead of just protrusions out of their shirt. And this is any area where you bet I'm super safe and take very seriously. I know I can be wrong about a lot of other things, but when it comes to the protection of my children and not sexualizing them for perverts, I don't screw around with this type of thing. I'd never buy anything that was inappropriate for my girl.

Training bra? What, now we treat breasts like dogs, as something to be trained??? :p
Let me ask you: Have you ever purchased a bra for a young girl? These bras are designed to make the budding breasts look symmetrical, to hide the fact that the girl is wearing a bra, and to be able to be worn with v-neck shirts and other tops under which a regular bra would show. I wish they had had these bras in my size when I was developing, I probably would have been more comfortable wearing one. As it was, I was teased mercilessly, and everyone knew I was wearing one. It was humiliating. So whatever can be done to minimize the stigma of it, I approve of.
God help my daughter if she gets my boobs.... :o :o :o

My best friend in 4th grade (1978ish) had huge boobs. I felt so bad for her because back then all we had were tank top undershirts for kids our age. She had to wear grown up bras and they were at that time so freaking ugly, bulky, and nasty. I coach girls basketball and I wish that all of the girl's parents understood that their babies are growing up and they would make them wear something. They wear tank top basketball jerseys with nothing under them and stuff ummmmmm really shows. :bawl:

No, he's bragging that he was the 13-year-old boy having sex with a 30-year-old neighbor/friend of his aunt and uncle's. And wondering why anyone makes a fuss about it. Guess he doesn't have any daughters and doesn't plan to have granddaughters, so they can have teen sex with 30-year-old men as long as they both "know exactly what they're doing."
