This is fun. DUmmy fabricates a bouncy about a church that absolutely no liberal would ever willingly attend.

Today's gospel was about the Jewish leaders lieing about Jesus, saying that he was demon possessed etc. I expected the typical "be courageous even when people mock and lie about you" homily. Instead, the priest begins by calling out Senators Reid and Schumer by name, accusing them of lieing about Planned Parenthood and facilitating the murder of babies. The priest parroted all of the republican lies about Planned Parenthood: 98% of their services are abortion, employees have been caught talking women into abortions that didn't want, that the majority of the funding for PP comes from taxpayer dollars, and that PP cooks their books to make it appear that federal money doesn't cover abortions. All lies that have been fully exposed.
So I sat there and listened. I looked around and could not believe that there was noone else in the church being made physically uncomfortable by what was being said. The righteous indignation that began to rise in me finally came to a head when the priest said that any person who calls themself a Catholic should be ashamed to support liars like Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer. No, Father. Catholics should be ashamed to support liars like John Boehner, Michele Bachmann, and Steve King who claim to care so much about blastulas that they are willing to throw the poor, disabled, and elderly under the bus for political points.
So I walked out. The first time in my life that I have ever been so angry at what was being said in a church that I chose to get up and leave. I will never be returning to that parish again. There are plenty of others to choose from where the priests do not make political tirades from the pulpit. I went 2 blocks down and went to Mass at another parish. The priest there talked about our moral responsibility to stand up to injustice. In my small way, walking out of the first parish this morning was my way to stand up to the injustice and outright lies being spewed from the pulpit there.

Isn't a DUmmy entering a Catholic Church like a vampire being exposed to sunlight?
And, of course, there are umpteen kajillion calls for the church's tax exempt status to be revoked.
We'll see if he'll admit what parish this allegedly was. I have a feeling he won't.

Shouldn't be too hard to find. Just look for two Catholic Churches two blocks apart. A statistical impossibility in any Diocese.

Priest? so are we to assume he's Catholic? if so? I've been Catholic my whole life and can only recall 1 Homily that dealt with abortion and that's it. The Homily never "calls anyone out" especially Politicians by name because of their tax exempt status, oh except for Black Churches, for some reason they can get political.
ETA: I see he's Catholic and he's lying.

Kaput stole this tale from DailyKos. And they bristle when we call them lazy good-for-nothings? Nevertheless, Femrap is over there urging Kaput (even though it's not his own story), to call the Pope and complain. Seriesly.
Lots of other DUmmies over there clapping Kaput on the back and giving him kudos for his born-again atheism. They fail to see it's not his story.

I am not religious, but even I know that there are not any churches that advocate abortion. And if planned parent hood was in such dire financial shape, that it needed all this federal money, explain this. (http://www.opensecrets.org/pacs/pacgot.php?cmte=C00314617&cycle=2008)

I think she's still there under a new name. But she won't post the "bouncy" stories, since she has clearly been ridiculed & mocked, even by her fellow DUmmies.

My go to the same Catholic church I do. The priests there are NEVER scared to call it like they see it. No one has ever gotten up and left even when they condemn people who take communion and support abortion. Usually there are about 300+ people at each service 8am, 10am, 12pm, and 6pm on Sundays.

The Catholic Church unfortunately has a full complement of "Liberation theology" priests who are full-bore social liberals, willing and eager to undermine Church doctrine on matters like premarital sex and contraception, but even they pretty much choke on abortion.
(I'm not a practicing Catholic, but half the extended family members are.)

Condemning abortion is perfectly legal. Actually naming politicians is not, I'm pretty sure...

Not sure they actually care if it is legal or not. I know they have mentioned names, but I'm not sure if it was in condemnation. Why bother being a priest if you are going to be wishy washy and hide evil?

The issue is with IRS tax codes. Since the 50's, any direct political activity can cause a church to lose its non-profit standing. Any active condemnation or support for any politician can bring the wrath of the IRS. That is the law, despite the fact that it is quite clearly unConstitutional for the Federal government to limit free speech on the private property of any church.

Since when has the IRS been concerned with the constitutionality of it's activities? :confused: This is the same agent of the executive branch which has it's own, private COURT SYSTEM, and operates it under the presumption of GUILTY until proven INNOCENT, after all.

I once stood up and challenged my minister when he (157+ / 0-)
was saying something similar. We actually almost came to blows and the congregation was backing me, rather than the minister. Later, I learned he was fired. That day I gave up on organized religion, believed in a Creator and have never set foot inside a church for over 40 years. Haven't regretted it. If I look for comfort, I drive into the mountains, sit among the trees and overlook the valley below. Lot's more "church" there, I tell ya.

Just curious....How often do the DUmmies use the words 'hope' and 'change' as compared to before Obama?
To me they seem to use them less. I guess they don't want to remind people of the "Hope and Change" slogan.
