I get the sense that DU would've preferred no cuts and continuing current spending levels.
Other than defense and getting rid of tax cuts, I can't imagine a single thing that your average DUer would agree to cut.
Once the details of the 39 billion emerge, I imagine a furor is going to erupt.

8. "Democrats suck!"
That is very DU these days.
Don't feel bad, Republicans suck is being preached on right wing sites now.

19. And economists like Stiglitz says these cuts only make the recession worse
They do not lead to job creation.
In fact we should have more govenrment spending in the downturn to generate jobs. Deficits in these circumstances don't matter. You fight deficits when you have more tax revenue coming in from an improved economy.

18. We are not spending too much - we are taxed too little.
We would not be in this present situation were it not for the Bush tax cuts and his wars.
Do you not realize that if we taxed more and had more revenue coming in (like you think will happen), that the dems would have spent that and our deficit would still be about the same. You can only tax the rich so much until they run out of money.
Don't despair DUmmies in 2012 you will retake the house and still have the senate and white house. So you will get your socialist dreams fulfilled.
After the future RINO, Paul Ryan, compromises on the budget the GOP will be toast.

Well Chris the DUmmy said "we".
As I have found out over the years "we" can mean you. Like when your squad leader or platoon Sgt says, "We have to clean the latrine" he means you have to clean the latrine. So when this DUmmy says "we" he means everyone that makes more than he does.

 You have a point.
Sorry you had to clean the shitter.

Here in Red State Hell, the Obacalypse has hit with much, much less severity than has in the blue democrat coastal hellholes. The tax burden imposed on us by state and local government is absurdly low by blue state standards, yet the current democrat economy is not nearly as painful here as it is in areas with more well-informed, progressive voters and an all-encompassing social safety net. How can that be? It just doesn't make sense. Must be one of those blips.

The federal regulatory burden has not helped private companies. The company I work for has had to kick hiring into overtime to meet EPA mandates for fuel economy and emissions standards to sell their products. The IT department is working overtime to meet the demand for new employees, which is putting additional strain on our outside vendors for equipment, and that additional hiring is saddling HR, benefits, and payroll departments with even more work. How much money are these companies laying out to keep up with liberal pipe dreams and government mandates? The whims and dictates of the government are not a sound basis to build an economy on.

Yup, not taxed enough. Just spent the day with my mom who came up to Denton to take me out for lunch and buy me some presents for my birthday. Last year, mom and stepdad paid about $15,000 in taxes and got a $1600 refund. This year they paid $15,000 in taxes and have to give the IRS another 5 grand. Lets see, I make more than my mom does and I'm not working, but living off my GI Bill and my stepdad just started a 6 month tour in a not so nice cat box in the Middle East while wondering if he's going to get a pay check. I know they make much, much less than $250,000 a year and yet their taxes went up. How's that pledge going, DUmbasses? The one your Messiah said that taxes wouldn't go up a penny for those making less than 250 a year.
